• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

We have been though this. NO. Even if David fking Blaine takes over. Nothing is going to get us promoted. Other than 20 teams getting points off and that would need to be 30 point deductions for some teams. If you are going to keep asking questions, why not ask sensible ones like "Can we achieve safety early this year?" or other questions a sane person would ask.
Happy soul aren’t you 🤣

Also, where has this notion come from where we’ve struggled to close deals? We’ve signed a shedload of players, the issue is the profile of all these players and how far away we moved from what got us success us previously.

Jacob Wright the only one in recent memory is the only one that has fallen through.

Not read the article just the comments.

As I said in another thread, now IS the time to get carried away with bucket fulls of optimism and hope. Yeah we may end up having a shite or mediocre season, but if you can’t get up for it now, you never will.

Miserable bastards.

Jack Army!

In fairness up until this window we have struggled to close deals since around 2018 or 2019

Which ones though Phil? We’ve signed a shedload of players.

Just to be clear here I’m not slagging Monty off I’m glad he’s here but the god like status I find a bit odd.

I would say that a lot of deals haven't happened over the years......we wouldn't really have much of an idea.

I don't think Levien and Kaplan helped. The new board seems to be more adventurous and not willing to sit on their hands.

We have signed a shed load of players but look at all the ones we didn’t get over the line due to an unnerving belief that we were always in pole position - constant fuck ups by levien kaplan Silverstein and Coleman etc

For montague he’s doing an excellent job backed up by a good plan, strategy and seemingly a good team and as director of football he will take a good chunk of the credit (and of course the flak if it went wrong )

I don’t disagree with that as such, and we’ll always not land players, Poku and McBurnie

Yeah we’ll always not close deals I suppose, Poku and McBurnie this summer as an example so I was wrong with my initial comment that we’ve never failed, but I just think the notion he’s completely reshuffled the department is out as this was all put in place after the takeover, and the targets we’ve landed were all there in January, as we’ve seen with Galbraith. However, I do agree he’s doing a fine job at closing them out this summer and hopefully it continues, he’s been an upgrade on Coleman in that regard

I’d be impressed if we managed to find anyone who was a downgrade on Coleman given he was largely hopeless 🤣

Coleman's mayonnaise was an upgrade on Coleman to be fair Risc :)
(and for the record I hate mayo even more than marmite)
