• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Realistic expectations are pathway to ongoing happiness. Lets see who is whining when we are hovering above the relegation slots at Xmas. It wont be me. But then I guess you can call me happy clapper instead.
Why so glass half empty about this season? Overall mood seems pretty positive but I don’t see why we can’t carry on where we left off last year?

Genuine question by the way and not a dig, you must have your reasons.

I forgot about Sam Parker also but still see Galbraith in the pecking order if Key doesn't play.
Arthur Parker and this new Scot can't be totally relied on, I would think a loan would help A Parker and wouldn't rule S Parker getting a loan also.
This new Scot is decent, very decent.

Ok, can't say toouch about him as I have never seen him play. I have heard that he can play left back.

You seen him play or going from what someone else has told you?

If they’ve played against Celtic in the last 25 years, Jaxs has got a full dossier on them. He’s the Oracle on Scottish players.

Its not just this season. Everything that has happened so far hasnt been a surprise to me. Every season relegation gets more likely. Its going to happen, just a matter of when. Wont surprise me in the least if its this season.

You're being silly now, no way will we be in a relegation battle this coming season AND YOU CAN BOOKMARK THAT.

I appreciate some people are more optimistic than others, and Football fans are never happy, even when we win, but this for me is super negative. Let's have some hope, it might be for this summer, but relegation battle? Come on. Yes, we have been on the decline, and especially what has happened last season. But, you have to look at what has happened with all the changes. It's not just the players coming in but it seems we are finally going in the right direction. This is no disrespect to you but I couldn't be this negative all the time while being a supporter. Where's the fun?

I'm notoriously cautious about our prospects at the best of times, but even I would say I'd be shocked if we were in a relegation battle next season after the business we've done so far this summer. I don't think we're play off material quite yet, but that's definitely where our ambitions should be. For the first time in a few years we should be looking up not down.

(That said the Championship is a bastard of a division, and all it takes is a cluster of injuries in one area of the pitch and any team in the division is potentially fooked)

The Championship is probably the toughest division in world football.

Not because its where all the money is but because it has a few sides who DO have all the money but even then that money doesn't always guarantee you a side that succeeds (see Sheff Utd last season, Leeds Utd the season before) because the schedule is unrelenting and consistency is so damned difficult to maintain

Also any side is more than capable of pulling off a result against any other side when they are on their day and the other team is not, the teams who will be in or around the play offs is simply the ones who can showcase their potential more often than their rivals.

On paper the players we have signed are all ones who should get us very excited, combine that with so far keeping practically the entire team from last season (minus Darling) means that at a glance you would have to say that a team who finished mid table last season has only gotten stronger.
