I would guess they are looking at the whole picture, including his overall performance as Swansea manager in his 30 odd games. His points accumulated must be very high.

The league is better this year, you can tell by the amount spent elsewhere. Two of the three clubs coming up from League One both have greater spending power than most of the league, that’s never happened before.

Whilst the club has spent money this summer it’s only to play catchup. We had one of the lowest squad values in the league, now we are about 10th or 11th. If it wasn’t for a late flurry of results from both Sheehan and even Russ the season he left, we would be regularly flirting with relegation.

So the progress this season is I don’t think relegation will even enter the conversation at any point, it should be comfortable top 10, and not just achieved from a late run of results. A team with a squad value like ours can’t expect top 6. We can hope for it but not expect it, it’s unreasonable.

From a fans perspective I wouldnt disagree but I was posting to say why maybe the voard might have different perspectives.

36 points in the 22 games since he took over from Williams.....thats an average if 1.63 points oer game around 75 points over 46 games thiugh tthe average is liwer this season to date at 1.33 pts per game

Thats true squad values dont always indicate results on the pitch Im sure for many years especially during those of ours in the PL we have "punched above our weight" in terms of tanle finish v squad value.

There is a direct correlation though. Take the top 5 and bottom 5 of every league and the top 5 will have combined larger squad value than bottom 5. I would guess that the reverse has never happened.

Over the last 15 seasons the average points to make 6th place is around 74 points in the championship. I'm sure you'd be happy with that.

An interesting article looking at us tactically against Leicester. A few shots where you can see that massive gap in midfield, hopefully it’s something we can address moving forward.

I know you and i differ on our opinions on this, but i can't see the owners being happy with 10th place this season, particularly if we consistently hang around the mid table spot. Generally after about 10 games we get a rough idea where we are. I haven't, so far this season, seen too much to get excited about . There's a lack of creativity in the team and at the moment i genuinely don't think the manager knows his best team , or even where to play some players to get the best out of them. Widell is an odd one for me, came with a real reputation when we signed him and yet he's banished to the U23s. Okay he hasn't set the world on fire, but neither did Eom ( he's not much better now) or Vipotnik last season when they arrived, but they weren't sent to the U23s. Bobby Wales is another one, surely if he wasn't going to play this season he could have been loaned to a top League 1 club , or even sent back to Kilmarnock for a loan. As I've said previously, i don't dislike Sheehan, and i want him and the club to do really well (I'm a fan) but on the evidence so far I'm extremely pessimistic about our chances of making an impact this season. I hope I'm wrong.

So where is Widdel if he is not playing for the U23s where is he? Wherenis he getting game time
Funny though isnt it Inoussa same age as Widdell 23 and played at a similar level before coming here yet henisnt being "managed" in.....there are questions to be answered.

Montague's role become redundant, completely separate from the managers role.
