• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Anyone who sports bets will tell you that yhe bookies are seldom wrong.
Their analytics people are sharp as hell - and if they make mistakes setting the market they are fired unceremoniously
If this is his background then i see it as a plus

Yeah, what a shame he doesn’t have a job at a bookies.

They are wrong all the time, its just a case that so are most of the punters boosting their coffers

The bookies lose when the favourite wins

Except when it comes to new manager odds for the Swans apparently.
Over the years they've been wrong just about every time.

It is more complicated than bookies being right or wrong. They are not making predictions, they are setting odds and balancing probabilities to ensure there is a profit margin either way. The skillset you would need to work there in some jobs, would lend itself very well to developing statistical models to help with recruitment as they should have a good bullshit detector to bad uses of data or statistics. Overall you would think his work as a tennis trader should have some crossover to football to be of use. I wonder if he will bring some people with better knowledge from the football side of the bookmakers to join him like with Brighton.

Do you trust him signing players for us in January 🙈
Galbraith Stamenic are both good players.

The 2 Swedish lads bit early to say but 8 mil for the pair seems a big outlay for what they bring.
Idah looks a dud at the moment but hoping he may come good
The service is so poor it seems harsh to judge any forward.
Santos and the keeper are just back ups so wasn't expecting much.

Of the rest Yaccouuie looks good the West Ham boy has done well when called on.
Wales has not had a chance.
No idea why we signed him.

But I do think there is potential in the squad but they are not jellying..

We only started 2 of the new players last night which kind of indicates what Joe and Leon think about it all.
But overall it seems like we have overspent heavily for what we have got.

What position do you think we need to improve? Right back an obvious one. The rest I'd like to see what Matos can do with them on the training pitch

Im quickly losing faith in Inoussa. Last night was peak Inoussa. Turn this way, turn that way, turn this way, pass backwards. Hes a meh out of 10

He's getting 15 minutes a game though, it's absurd. He's comfortably looked our most dangerous attacking threat all season (admittedly a low bar), but isn't getting starts. Look at how much trouble he caused against Man City, he's a proper handful when allowed to be direct
