S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Coventry City v Swansea City | 3pm, Boxing Day | The EFL Championship | The Coventry Building Society Arena

We have a decent record against Cov at their place.
We haven’t lost there since they moved to their new ground. Even though we were 3-0 down under Martin before drawing 3-3.

I’d expect a few changes for this with more winnable games coming up in the following days - expect to see a few of Idah, Key, Cullen, Casey and Samuels-Smith.

We're 19th at the moment...

But more importantly, still 7 points clear of the relegation places, same as we were at the start of the day.

Charlton beating Oxford cost us a place in the table, but kept us 7 points clear of 22nd.

One win could theoretically see us climbing as high as 14th, but a defeat would only drop us a maximum of one position in the table.

I say all that because 19th sounds bad, but thanks to 3 wins in 4 games, we're actually more comfortable as regards relegation spots than that position in the table would suggest.

Only watched the first half of their game against Saints and my God they were unbelievable they absolutely played them off the park. Think this Is a complete free hit game as long as we don't come away with a smashing and any injuries to important players I'll be happy.

Unlucky for them that the game is played over two halves rather than one. Southampton were all over them after the red card and were incredibly unlucky not to score a winner. Lampard's behaviour at the end of the game suggests they're rattled after only 1 win in 4 games.

They are odds on to beat us of course, but given their current form and our record up there, we are capable of getting a positive result. I certainly don't think Matos and the players will be thinking like some of our fans who are suggesting resting players for 'more winnable games' and the like.

Strange watching Manning, Wood, Grimes, Lati, Bidwell, Rushworth and the like in promotion chasing teams
Weirdly only Manning and Rushworth are really up to Premier league at a push. Grimes will get found out fast, as he is slow. Lati, I never liked and Bidwell just can't see it.

Manning was hugely exposed in the prem last season. Rushworth has the potential though
