• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Good time for us to play them.. although sacking GR is probably going to be their downfall. Their squad is paper thin in quality

They'll struggle finding a manager. Though, there saving grace is their location. Just keep away from there largest council estate. It's a shocker. 😜

Blackbird Leys? I was shocked there as I thought Oxford was posh, then I soon realised you didn't have to wander far from the dreaming spires and glittering prizes to see some sights.

Blackbird Leys is nowhere near as bad as some of our housing estates in Swansea. In fact, as an ex Penlan pupil, I would say it's positively posh!

Had more aggro in 14 months in Oxford than years in South London. Nasty undercurrent between locals getting priced out and the university which owns everything

Same here. I used to visit Oxford alot due to work etc and I was shocked to see how one minute you are amongst the typical Oxford dream to then suddenly being on a shocking estate. To be fair most town and City's are like that. 😂😂

Yes but I never thought Swansea was posh.

I have to say Peckham, Lewisham and Catford all had their moments when I lived there. I suppose I was trying to collect debts, so it might have been selection bias.

I lived in Peckham 90/91. Interesting.

How much did you owe? 🤣. It was on the telly the other night. I didn’t recognise it. I was there in 1981-84. The North Peckham Estate and up towards the OKR was pretty daunting. At least I managed to avoid New Cross and Deptford, I suppose. Lots of bad areas around in those days…I used to run through Brixton and Streatham without thinking, even after the Brixton riots. People used to wave at me. Probably thought I was rock hard or insane. Or, in a t-shirt and shorts there’s nothing to mug me for.
