S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Coventry 1 Swansea 0 | Att: 30,139 | Boxing Day | The EFL Championship | The CBS Arena

Absolutely no blame for Matos from me he got it spot on today thought his subs was good and we were well structured with an clear game plan.

Stoke Wrexham Cov have been good performances and we've only come away with 3 points.

However, we need 4 points from the next 2 games because we have to be aware of the position we are in at the moment. Unfortunately we wasted 6 months on a manager which should never have been in his job so as refreshing as it is to see good performances we need points to go along with it.
100%. Pressure to get a result on Monday. Maybe. But we have to get it and at least a draw if not win against West Brom. We all want to shoot up the table but think it's gonna take a little longer. I am confident we will get a right back. And more time for Matos, we secure championship football. Might be some drama here or there and results that weren't against us today happens. Other weekends it goes for us. We move on. But no pressure lads. Win is a must on Monday.

We absolutely have to fix the RB position in January. As well as stabilising the right of defence, it will also bring improvement to the midfield. Add a winger, as ours are pretty crap, and we will be fine. Fail to do this and it will be a long second half of season spent looking over our shoulder.
I've thought about this more over the last few games but for me I'd leave Galbrsith RB until the summer and sign a physical box to box midfielder on loan instead of a RB and reassess further the down the line.

Franco has to be dropped and we are missing some physicality in that midfield alongside Stamenic + Galbraith is more effective at RB then at 6 imo.

A RW and an 8 are priorities.

Two pleas to Vic Tomatoes.
1. Stop players diving! Inoussa could have passed Bidwell on the edge of the area in the last few minutes and put himself in a goal scoring position, but because Bidwell flung a weak arm across him, he went down like a sack of sh*t. Of course the ref ignored him.

2. Teach players NOT to lean back when shooting, get your feckin knee over the ball! Both Inoussa and Ronald sent shots into space from the edge of the area instead of hitting the target or creating a dangerous deflection or rebound.

We knew Ccfc had a little more in the tank going forward. Vitor did what he could in taking the game by the scruff of the neck. Onwards and upwards. Win at home and we will stay up. Win away and we will be sailing up the Orinoco.

I think it's becoming clearer that some of this data shit is a load of nonsense.
Not a load of nonsense today looking at the XG (1.02 for Cov and 1.22 for the Swans on FotMob.) We had two very good quality chances (Vip and Cullen) and they only really had two of the same quality themselves (header off the line and the one straight after). The difference in XG was only marginal (0.20) which looking at the chances for both teams, checks out. XG doesn’t mean you should have scored that many, it just indicates the quality of your chances minus actual goals scored I believe. You could have an XG of 3.00, miss several sitters and still lose a game 1-0.

I am not sure who will come in for the likes of Ronald, EOM and Inoussa. We have bought too many flops for our money.
They haven't cost us the earth so should be relatively easy to shift if we decided to do so.

Yeah, it doesn’t matter how tidy we look between the boxes. Games aren’t won or lost there. And unless you’re solid as a rock (e.g. Burnley last year), you have to be able to score freely to challenge at the top.

We’ve got a platform to build on, so that’s something at least.
It’s a prerequisite in any form of football. Unless you’ve got a Haarland type centre forward, your midfielders have to contribute with goals, simple as.

Gutted with the result, but thats testament to the performance.

Cullen has got to score that chance. Horrible miss.

Innoussa can leave anytime he wants. Pathetic diving and decision making. Clown.

So in the grand scheme of things, it's nonsense.

A lot of people are judging Galbraith in what they think he can do rather than wha5 he’s actually doing.

If a different player had taken those corners at the end they would have had pelters.
Corners were shite. In no way was he poor. Prob best on the pitch in that first 35 mins for starters
