Hopefully it’ll be a bit of a different game to Matos’s first game in charge, even though we did score 2 in that one. Looking at the fixtures, West Brom haven’t won away since Oct 1st against Norwich. They’re a bit like us, all their goals are up top with their 9 (Heggebø). It may well come down to who performs the best between him and Vipotnik on Thursday.

Still waiting for us to score 3 in a league game this season.
They have terrible away record. Let's hope we don't gift them there first away win in a while. I'm personally looking for a win and not a draw for this one. Though it will be tough.

They'll have confidence from our collapse up there. I hope we can use that to show some better colours. I expect them to try and bully us from the start.

Me too. Not sure Eom should play with this being so physical. Ronald might be rolling about until next new year. Hopefully referee hasn't watched many of our matches 🤣

I was just looking at stats of Widell, pass accuracy 83%, 100% long pass accuracy. Tackles won, 100%. No idea on the amount he ran, but he will be tired. I agree think Yalcouye would be good to come in. But my bet Widell will play based on his stats. Yalcouye though only on for a short time and did well and did do some blocks in stats got, 67% pass accuracy and no tackles.
I tried looking couldn't find stats of his distance covered
Amazingly despite all of that his opta points score was quite low

Not at all, was a farce. I still remember doing a long summary of the events on the JA of the day for those who hadn't gone to the game.

Would be interesting to read it again now to see how biased I was! I remember calling Monk an idiot for reacting to provocation (it's usually the second offender who gets caught) and blasting Linington for clearly shitting himself when it looked like the game would need to be abandoned.
I'm normally a stickler for teams keeping their discipline but that night was the one time I was happy to make an exception. Scunny came here to break legs and in those situations you need a strong referee - instead we got Linington. I couldn't blame Monk and co for taking matters into their own hands by the end, it was disgusting.

I didn't like that period of football between about 2008-2013 where teams like Scunthorpe and Stoke just went round elbowing and two-footing teams, and somehow it was just allowed to happen. I was glad when they eventually clamped down on it, because it was just thuggery.

Is it me or is Yalcouye starting to look stronger and more at home at this level. Each time he has come on recently he has impressed me.
I would like to see more of him in the next 2 games.

Agreed. Not that it makes a difference, but it seems he has 0 English vocabulary. He always has a clueless look on his face. And think Matos acknowledged that in the video few weeks ago about him not having a clue. Joking aside, he brings energy and we might need that from the start tomorrow.
