I agree but there were so many people that expected him to get us promoted by December and now they realise he won’t they want a new mam to takeover and they’ll expect him to get us promoted by January
This is who we need a proper Welsh ‘Mam’ to take over…

I would also add that presumably the plan last night was to still be in the game with 10 minutes left to play and then have a bit of a go. As soon as we started doing that, we looked much better. Although whether that was due to a change in approach or personnel (Vip on for Idah), who knows.
We sat back from the start and we conceded with 11 men on the pitch.
When we attacked them in the last 10 minutes we looked pretty decent and were down to 10 men! Imagine if we had set off from the front foot from the 1st whistle with 11 men.

We started off negatively, we conceded an early goal and got a player sent off due to frustration.
It seems the message is keep it tight from the 1st minute rather than let's go out there and attack them.

It's boring, rubbish and too negative......it's as if he's trying to win the game by trying to be too tactical and overly clever as a coach. Just get at the fuckers!

The football we've seen so far this season, without exception, has been extremely far removed from what I would consider to to be the 'Swansea Way'.

It's just a slight variation on the garbage served up by Williams which in itself was a slight variation of the garbage served up by Martin.

Sheehan's days are numbered. I just can't see things improving.

I think trying to play that way is exactly what is hurting us. We dominate possession in nearly every game, lots of passes around the back. This isn’t too far removed from Luke or Russ.

I’d rather Sheehan ditch this and get back to quick transitions. The Swansea way is nonsense and has been for about a decade, doesn’t exist other than in the memories of a different footballing time. Doesn’t work in this day and age.

People talk about Hellberg but he’s doing it with one of the best teams in the league and he still got beaten to the title by a small fishing village Mjallby. We need to move away from it, it’s holding us back.

Agree with that. We need to be fearless and attack.

would you stick or twist on the coach? I am increasingly concerned he does not have this in him.

Stick. Far too early to be making any changes yet. This season was always going to be one of integration. Not to say progress shouldn’t be monitored though, but would be very knee jerk now. It’s October.

Again this was me. Stupid I know. But I keep banging on about it. The stats coming out is alarming. It's the performance drop off that is nuts as well. What was the atmosphere like last night at the game? Was there alot of chat about him going out of curiosity?
I was looking forward to being excited to go to game again. I also wanted us to be competitive in games.
Neither of those are happening at the moment.

I can’t believe some of the stuff I’m reading in this thread, it’s as if some have some kind of emotional attachment to Sheehan, he’s a lovely bloke but it’s been a massive mistake appointing him full time.
He should have been financially rewarded for the job he did last season but we should have looked for a manager who matched the ambition of the clubs owners.

How many clubs over the years have made the same mistake as we have in appointing a caretaker full time?

We got just about every off field call right during the close season, we’ve had some incredible exposure as a result of the high profile celebrities linked to us, unfortunately the most important decision of all we’ve got horribly wrong in my opinion.

He's got a 44% win percentage, he's much better than Russ and Williams.. he's had 3 bad results in a row, Russ had about 20 games to sort it, Williams about 15.. both of which had below 35% win percentages when they started to crumble and ended up both below 30% when they got the boot

Said this a few times in recent years.

I understand why people do it, it's an intoxicating image, and I used to be guilty of it myself, but we need to let it go.

It was a brief moment in time where everything just came together perfectly and everything was aligned, but it just isn't realistic to expect it to happen again. Demanding we try and replicate it is killing us. We're stuck in a time warp.

Our problem is this ‘Swansea Way’ stuff which is killing us. It doesn’t work anymore, football is cyclical. I think Sheehan has tried to incorporate it into his playing style. Our own mentality holds us back because we are the only club that has to adhere to a style of play that largely doesn’t work.
I actually think we’d benefit from playing more like the Swansea Way at the moment. Not full on Russell Martin style but actually passing into the no 6 would help. To me we don’t look at all like we’re playing Swansea Way football. This channel ball stuff and constant attacking down the wings and doing nothing else just isn’t working for us. A number 10 is also needed.
