S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | WBA vs The Swans | 3pm, Saturday 29th November 2025 | The EFL Championship l The Hawthorns

I scibbled a few possibilities on a piece of paper last night and that is exactly the lineup I settled on (y)(y)
I'd have this but with benson rw instead of eom. Let him cut in and key do something he's half decent at - overlapping and running forward.

Problem is Key when he overlaps (and let agree to disagree as he's not half decent at that IMO) is so bloody slow at getting back into his defensive position that Cabango gets pulled out of position and we see a goal or assist against us down our righthand side.

Key should be locked in the changing room at 3pm and not released until around 5:45pm

My logic was that I thought Eom did quite well for 30 minutes against Derby and as he is right-footed, he may be more inclined to get past his marker than he is on the left and better at it than Ronald whose main tactic is to persist with trying a 1-2 off his marker's shins and then falling over when it doesn't quite come off.

I wouldn't argue too much with that lineup except that I would be looking at blooding Parker rather than Casey.

One of those two is our player and is a full back by trade

If Key and Ronald start this after the performances of the last 2 matches alone we clearly have poor decision makers at the club.

Why hasnt Yalcouye been playing? Id forgotten about him. Im so done with Eom. Id rather start Benson and see if he can play throught the shyteness. (I know hes been terrible but he cant be any worse that Eom)He also isnt going to get any better sat on the bench.
No obvious reason; as you say he’s been on the bench since his 3 game ban. He’s ridiculously lightweight though.

I’d be playing Stamic and Galbraith as the two CDMs (with Galbraith licence to roam and be the playmaker). I’d like to see more of Widell ahead of them. He’s not going to get the match time he needs sat on the bench either and has looked lively (if ineffectual, but he’s still bedding in which is hard with not much game time). EOM in the middle is an option too, although he hangs on to the ball too long to be an effective creative 10. Everywhere you look our options are thin.

Fair play to Matos to take us on. He’s got to try and make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.
