Huge credit to Matos he got the changes spot on today. To quickly recognize the problem and making 3 changes at HT requires great tactical acumen and some huge cojones. Alot of other managers would have given it another 15 minutes to see how it goes.

Preston realized how bad our build up was with Fulton, Cabango and Burgess and just let us have the ball and when we inevitably lost it they would quickly counter and create us alot of problems.

Credit to Matos he recognized that and fixed our build up by bringing Yalcoue on and playing Galbraith at the 6.

It's just a shame the damage was already done. Giving ourselves only 45minutes to score 2 goals against a solid defensive outfit was always going to be a huge ask. I'm pretty confident if we scored that goal 15minutes earlier we would have gone on to win it.

Nunes is very raw and he will definitely have poor games here and there but he HAS to start over Ronald no doubt about it for me.

I've tried giving him some time now but I'm really just not seeing it with Walta. The alarm bells were ringing after his cameo against Sheffield Wenesday but I gave him the benefit of the doubt.
Walta hasn’t played football in 3 months, we’re not likely to see the best of him until next season imo. I wouldn’t even put much stock in his performances until he is ready for multiple 90 minutes.

My main positive for the game is that we have a clear form best XI to pick on Saturday.

Vigs

Key - Cabango - Burgess - Tymon

Galbraith

Franco - Yalcouye

Nunes - Vip - Eom

Only the first good performance in a while from Key, but he has to move Galbraith into midfield

Basically played the wrong team in the first half. Benefit of hindsight and all that but second half team should have started and we would be looking at three points.
Yalcouhe is wasted on the bench - what a player

I think Matos would have learnt alot from tonight. Alot of midfield options which bailed us out but tymon and the CBs looked knackered from the off. These 3 are playing every minute of every game so it's no surprise, we need another CB and left back cover in the summer. Also be good to have Idah back, VP also looked sluggish but again you can't expect him to lead the line every game for 90mins. One massive plus tonight was the quality of the deliveries into the box, long term promise for sure.

Personally stemenic has to come back in, fresh legs is what we need and Franco looked very leggy tonight on the ball (impressive off ball work rate though) I'd be tempted to give Samuel Smith a start aswel to be honest.

Matos just confirmed Snoop went into the dressing room at full time to give a team talk. Put to bed he left early. But I still think he was on the hunt for munchies 😂

Good call. I would go with that. But still think Stamenic will play.

Exactly I don't blame him for keeping the same sort of the team which has got us this form. Its easy to say he should have done different in hindsight but he deserves immense praise for rectifying it at half time. That's the sign of a proper manager.

I've given him his praise today but he now needs to learn from this and not make the same mistake again.

Hellish journey down, not so bad back. Got there 5 mins before the start and some skank had nicked my towel 🤣.

Outplayed in the first half as Preston contained us pretty easily and we lacked pace and movement. Second half different story, although I thought we’d never manage to score. Sweet in the end, and overall, a point earned. If Yalcouye, Gomez and Key (plus Galbraith transforming the dynamic) can play like that consistently, they all have to start. Walta is out of his depth at the moment.

For Gomez read Nunez. I’m tired.
