I think we're most of the way there, but just lacking some cutting edge. Losing Laird from the start wasn't going to help with that, but understand that he needs a rest. Is it worth recalling Kyle Joseph from his loan, as a more attacking alternative than Latibeaudiere?

We need to find a way of creating chances, and I think Obafemi would give us much more directness in place of Korey Smith. Whilst he's not there though, I think Morgan Whittaker would have been a much better option and needs to be trusted more.

St Cooper didn’t trust him neither. Something strange there. When Cullen’s getting on before you in his current stage of development you might as well pack your bags.

I get it you didnt like Cooper but I get so fed up with all the comments yet peoples memories play tricks and they spout crap
Cooper used Whittaker a fair bit in the latter stages of the season he actually had in excess of 288 minutes Cooper picked him to start at home against Derby and he scored!

I know what comes next but really how can you make the statements you do when you dont know the facts....so our prvious manager didnt not play Whittaker another myth that has been created along with all the others.
Yet our saviour wont play him despite the lack of goals ....we have had 3 boring no sore draws in our last 6 games 2 of which were at home but thats ok .....

Cooper has gone so stop giving him unwarranted stick....lets focus on the current managers shortcomings!!

Different scenarios The previous manager was winning games and had Ayew and Lowe scoring.
What we currently have is not working and having given Cullen a fair run without success Martin appears reluctant to try Whittaker or combinations of Piroe Whittaker Cullen

Yes Ayew scoring, amazing the difference a player on £3.5m per annum can do isn’t it?

288 minutes isn't much over half a season though is it? It's only just over 3 full matches.

What was his reward for scoring against Derby? Being subbed off after 65 minutes and then being dropped for Cullen against Watford, then not leaving the bench for a single minute in the playoffs. Doesn't scream that he trusted him, does it?

I don't think this was Monny criticising Cooper, other than facetiously calling him St Cooper, so leaping to his defence with some dubious 'facts' about how our previous manager used Whittaker doesn't really make any sense.

I agree Monny want for once criticising Cooper but he was making out that Cooper didnt play Whittaker either....yet another myth created like the ones about Potter not playing Dan James until January after the Leeds fiasco despite the fact James had bee playing a lot before Christmas.

288 minutes isnt a lot but Cooper appeared to be blooding Whittaker , remember Ayew and Lowe were scoring so it wasnt as though he had a problem there unlike the current manager.

Another "myth" or excuse is the fact Ayew was an 80K a week player so we were lucky ...he was onl;y valued at that because we were paying it NO other club was preapred to shell out that money even after a good season the season before last and whilst he was a talisman for us no other club seemed to value him enough to take him and now he is playing in the desert . Whilst he scored goals last season how many of these were from open play and how many were penalties , whilst Lowe inhis first season as a "striker" got just as many goals from open play.

Ayew currently on $200,000 per week.
'He will earn $200,000-a-week as he is expected to pen a three-year deal. The pay will also not be subject to taxes in the Arab country ... '
45% income tax in UK means he is c £103,000 better off per week.

And the point is?
My point was no other EFL or PL club saw that value in Ayew.......many of our fans keep saying how we underachieved and our previous manager was lucky to have an 80K per week player...yet as I say no other PL or EFL club saw or see him as such....Our illustrious ex Chairman and DoF valued him at that when he brought him back form West Ham...
He may be even more highly paid now...but that is our in the desert where cost v quality is not as measured as over here.....not saying he isnt a class player and we owe him much but the way some of our fans refer to his "value" it is like comparing to a Harry Kane or similar....a player who is in demand!
