21/22 The Official Swansea City vs WBA Match Thread

The difference in the two halves only proves to me even more that Smith is absolutely not a player to use in an attacking midfield position, I felt that he was completely anonymous in the first half.

In the second half however he was a different animal, combative and confident enough to get the ball under pressure and redistribute it into space. His biggest challenge is dislodging the Grimes-Downes axis when they are both fully fit.

The intelligence and creativity in the second half was outstanding. West Brom didn't have a clue how to stop us. We could have gone and dinked over the top, wide through Laird, cutting in with Paterson or even Bennett/Cabanas storming through.

We have been treated the last few days and who knows where this could go

beg you pardon, didn't mean to be rude but Cooper through boring football gave us 2 years of play offs, I like the journey R Martin has started, so Come On You Swans

fair enough, present it a bit nicer

Best performance of the season for me, by far, against quality opposition. Looking forward to the Birmingham trip even more now.

Not sure it has been mentioned yet, but what a game Naughton had again. He has been absolutely fantastic this season playing in the middle of defence. Really showing how good a player he is.
Brilliant to see after many of our own fans would hammer him most weeks despite being a pretty consistent performer.

Think we have to go back a long way to find two such cracking matches on the trot at home.
We seem to be turning the corner and will start getting noticed as contenders.
Yes it is early days and Birmingham will be very telling. A win could take us into the top 10 and set us up nicely as we move into November. It is ours there to grab.

I was afraid as to where the goals would come from, but we could have scored more tonight and Sunday. Things change so quickly in football.

Martin has done a phenomenal job and like Piroe, will go go the top.

Naughton has been consistent and over recent games been our best player IMO. When you win plaudits go to the attackers and the defenders are often overlooked. Keep it up KN if Matty Grimes leaves in Jan he should be captain.

Anyone missing Cooper still?

the kings dead, long live the new king

Cooper was never a king, just a Clown Prince.
After the laughing stock he made of the team and fans at Wembley, no respect for him at all
Whatever happens with RM, he is a million times more genuine than Cooper ever was

It is pretty clear that Mitrovic on his day is the best striker in this league by a country mile.
Just though id mention Kyle as he seems to go under the radar, always neat and tidy, organises well and defends well.
Would be interesting to see how much of the ball he actually has in games because he must be up there with Downes and Grimes.
