We cook our Quorn sausages in it now and yes they taste better. Why?

I too have started cooking quorn sausages in mine & they are much better, no idea why though. I tend to cook at 160c for 8 mins & then 180c for 7 or 8 more shaking them every two or three mins to brown on all sides.

Just eaten sliced potatoes and they weren’t very nice. I usually boil them first, and they have been nice too, but not very brown. So tonight I just sliced them and cooked them for about 30 mins @180, and they weren’t very nice.

Anyone got one?
Bought one on Amazon yesterday, had it delivered earlier and just made chips for tea.

I can’t lie the finest chips I’ve ever tasted.
I bought one on the Monday we first went into lockdown last year.
I would never have a deep fat fryer, and can't stand oven chips.
I have to say I have saved a fortune on buying chips from the chip shop and am well on my way to paying back for it.
Not the same as the home made chips my Mam used to make and my mother in law makes, but love the chips cooked in them as well as the fish, chicken etc as I bought the two in one.
As an aside, also love using my George Foreman grill to make terrific toasties ( a trick my wife "invented" after watching them make ciabatta toasties in our hotel in Mexico )

Not fussed on them for chips, had one for a few years, the first month I thought the chips tasted fantastic! But now, give me deep fat fryer chips all day long.

Perhaps it's the model I have, only a cheapo Tower make, but I do find certain foods lose their flavour.

I agree, the flavour isn't the same, even with the fancy one, but needs must.
Generally very convenient and gets used a lot by me, so good investment

Ultimately will get one, we've been discussing it for a while. This weekend I'm changing the oil in my chip pan, messy business which means scrubbing the life out of it first etc etc, can't wait to give all that up!

Let me know how you get on. I used my fryer for chips and for Katsu chicken.

We were up the farm earlier and the farmer gave us a large turnip.
We had no idea what to do with it so my wife had a google and just made these.
They were absolutely f*cking stonking.

Is that the actual photo of your swede fries, and what dip was it?

No but it was similar and it was a turnip

I imagine it was quite nice. I’m partial to a roasted root vegetable and the presence of a dip makes it even more appetising.

Thanks for this thread Darran, very useful. After 6 months of dithering, I bought the Ninja AF100UK Air Fryer as recommended by WHICH magazine. It's gone up to £129 at Currys, but surprisingly it's £10 cheaper at John Lewis. John Lewis buys can be collected at any branch of Waitrose, which admittedly are few and far between in south Wales. Haven't unboxed it yet, let's not rush into these things.

Yes Glyn. Report back in 2024 when you’ve peeled your first root vegetable.

Been thinking about buying one of these, one of the girls I work with was extolling the virtues of her Ninja Health Grill and Air Fryer which sells for a RRP of about £250 but can be bought much cheaper in sales. Anyone got one and what are they like to make Jacket Spuds?

I don’t think I’ve ever eaten turnip, but in the picture Darren posted they looked really nice.

Well, I'll open the delivery package maybe next Tuesday or Wednesday, no need to rush into things. I'll be using this by Christmas, probably. But are Air Fryers, from your own experience - personal recommendation please - any good?

Especially as the Sandwich Toaster has never been used twice.
