• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

My own feeling regarding this, is that it shouldn't have gone ahead considering the devastation that's happening in Ukraine at the Hand's of that despot Putin.

We were ambling through Clyne Woods when a Spitfire went over, followed by a Lancaster. It's a funny thing but seeing these two always brings a lump to my throat.

Square, we live a stone's throw from Biggin Hill and see a Spitfire almost every day overhead. We've recently seen a Hurricane and a Mustang too.

Like you you I still find the Spit an awesome sight to see

I know what you mean, but just my opinion.

I stopped going a long time ago. Don't see what the pleasure is of watching flying death machines that are used on real people to kill them in foreign countries. Really do not see the fun of it. An ex colleague of mine dreads it as he came from a country that those jets were dropping bombs on.

Seemed to me that numbers may have been down this year could be wrong, just didnt seem as busy as previous years.

Strange isn't it. I've never seen it as busy as it was yesterday afternoon.

I witnessed totally disgusting behaviour on the beach at the Swansea International Air show on Sunday.
A man and woman were arguing in front of a load of children, then the woman smacked the man on the head and it all kicked off between them.
The police turned up and the policeman ended up using his baton on the bloke, but, the man actually managed to get the baton off the policeman and started hitting him and the woman with it.

Then a crocodile turned up and stole all the sausages.

It is in bad taste at the least. Perhaps it should be restricted to non-military air displays and historic planes.
And I am quite fascinated by warplanes (as a modeller).
