If he comes instead of Sheehan and doesn’t hit the ground running he gonna find himself as the filling in a shit sandwich very quickly. I don’t think he’d get the patience some others have.
It's going to a hard gig for someone else for sure if it doesn't go off smoothly.

I think you might be right 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱. Shoot me now.

I think the decision was made (by Sheehan and the club) when he first turned down the interim to end of season idea.
Hopefully if this happens then the picture will be made clearer similar to the Borini situation.

They say the right words at the time despite futures being agreed prior.

I haven’t been keeping up with the Swedish angle. He’s not another Guardiola type ‘possession’ tosspot is he? That would be a problem.

Hellberg could be a masterstroke signing or we revert back to where we were earlier this season

Sheehan has proved his management and motivation against different opposition and steered us clear.

Lot depends on recruitment again and who we retain and release.

I think it would be unfair to class him as in the same brand as Martin/Williams, when he seems to be pretty innovative. The word 'possession' doesn't feature once in that article

Edit: I stand corrected, it does feature, I just mis-spelt when ctrl+f-ing the article, oops. Even so, there's no reference to high possession numbers, nor the emphasis of possession of other factors

I’d much prefer a manager who can adapt each game to set up against opponents rather than a one style at all costs focused manager, we can see Sheehan get the team to play some nice football and we can see him getting them do the ugly side just as well, which imo is a win win, I’d be gutted if Sheehan moves on now.

Last thing I want is a "stick to the process" at all costs type of manager. We've been there and failed miserably.

If this fella is appointed and it's more sideways and backwards, it could get toxic quite quickly.

And I hope Montague and co really give that point some serious thought.

They have to look at the broader picture. It's not just about who they think is the right man, they need to take the temperature amongst the fans into account as well.

They need to understand that the fanbase has had enough of being gaslit by "trust the process" managers, hiding behind "the Swansea Way" slogan in order to justify losing football matches in droves. It simply isn't going to wash anymore. Not now Sheehan has shown there is a better way.

It's an enormous risk to take to go for Hellberg, unless of course the new board have designs on flouting FFP/PSR and increasing the wage bill to compete up the top end (no sign of that to date).

Norwich took a similar route with an unknown Scandinavian innovator...

Sheehan knows the league and has enough to improve us

Ambition v Steady hand

MILLWALL v SWANSEA CITY
