And I hope Montague and co really give that point some serious thought.

They have to look at the broader picture. It's not just about who they think is the right man, they need to take the temperature amongst the fans into account as well.

They need to understand that the fanbase has had enough of being gaslit by "trust the process" managers, hiding behind "the Swansea Way" slogan in order to justify losing football matches in droves. It simply isn't going to wash anymore. Not now Sheehan has shown there is a better way.

It's an enormous risk to take to go for Hellberg, unless of course the new board have designs on flouting FFP/PSR and increasing the wage bill to compete up the top end (no sign of that to date).
The club is certainly at a crossroads.

I certainly hope those in charge are listening to the fans. We sold out our home allocation on Friday through a mixture of pricing incentives and decent football.

Montague says playing philosophy will be a key factor in the recruitment process.
He believes getting results through possession-based football "has to be the goal" for a club whose considerable successes in the last two decades have been based on that approach.
"The important bit for me is that we find somebody who, alongside vital things like character, how they engage with players and engage with supporters and how they are as a leader of the football club, is at the forefront of where the game is going," Montague said.
"It's somebody who can help us be true to our identity, which I think is so important. I have never come across a club that has such a strong identity in terms of playing style.
"We need to be at the forefront of what's going on in football, on the data side, the recruitment side, strength and conditioning, the medical side. That's the only way to get to where we want to get to.
"So as long as we have somebody who respects our traditions but also wants to drive the club forward tactically, that's fine with me, as long as that leads to us performing well on the pitch."

Montague says offering Sheehan a long-term deal is an option for Swansea.
"I think it would be negligent to rule anything out at this stage," he said.
"I had a good week with Alan last week, he invited me into his process and we had a really strong performance. We need to see how that proceeds and how that progresses."

He has a history in the Scandinavian leagues regards players plus his former employers were Scandinavian.

He will most certainly be behind this Hellberg link I believe.

Something that I think worth considering for Montague is the win-win of appointing Sheehan. Even if Montague doesn't want Sheehan, the two options are:

- It goes well, and the fans are happy.
- It goes badly, but Montague can use the fans' clamour for Sheehan as a reason he was hired full time.

Hellberg is massively high-risk, high-reward; but I can understand from Montague's perspective why he wants to hire his own manager at his first opportunity, rather than appointing Sheehan through a happy accident.

Norwich took a similar route with an unknown Scandinavian innovator...

Sheehan knows the league and has enough to improve us

Ambition v Steady hand

There's the nail in the Sheezy Quorum coffin right there. BOOM....

Expecting uber successful, ambitious businessmen to settle for 'Steady hand' when chasing their lavishly funded ambition is beyond bonkers.

Some of our fans need to get some proper perspective and imagine what it must be like to be ambitious, driven and successful - 'Steady hand' ain't in their nomenclature.

They need to implement Plan A - and appoint the very best man that gives us the very best chance of delivering the Vision with our unique, leading edge Swansea Edge.

Jeez, Sheez isn't a Plan A or B. He's Plan C as per his tenure with us, alone.

Rather than give this cryptic crap as per!

Is Sheehan going to be the manager for next season ?
Atleast show a bit of balls and give a straightforward answer.

Im.sure the Venkies, Tan and Chansri are ambitious ...and do our Notts Co and Bristol Rovers newly appointed gurus now how to steer our Championship ship?

He was loving the Sheez until he heard this random foreign name the other day. That coupled with the billions of passes on the heat map and he was head over heels.

I'm happy for him to have his own view and even change his mind. I would just appreciate not reading all the shit that tells us jack shit and just come out and say if he thinks he gets the job next season or not.

As soon as the majority swing one way, he'll go the other. He's like a far less entertaining T2C from the old days.

That is all pretty depressing to read.

Oh, and if you do want us to pass the ball, sort out the bloody pitch. That was a massive factor in our playing style. And it wasn’t possession for possession’s sake neither. Until Paul Anderson joined to show how to take men on at pace and shoot, we were looking very dicey under Martinez. It’s not and never was about keeping the ball for no reason. If we go back to that bullshit, the ground will be empty and we’re going nowhere.

The thought of pissing around in our own half for most of the game and losing but having 70% of the ball and 600 passes is depressing.

I did. And I still maintain that to a great extent,

The actual real difference is O’Brien over Grimes. It has completely changed the team. It’s the biggest upgrade since I can’t remember when. Changed the players around him as well as they have always got an out.
This is why I’m still in the no camp with Sheehan in my gut.

Grimes festered about here for far too long and I can’t get rid of the feeling that LoB is masking “Management 101” making Sheehan look better.

Huge dilemma, but I won’t kick up a fuss if he does get the job. As others have said the feel good factor is back and that outweighs a lot of other concerns.

Hammarby are playing against Malmo now if anyone is interested in seeing Hellbergs style, 30 minutes in stats show 90% of their passes have been in the final third.
