Alan Sheehan.

I said at the start of this thread, Fulton will turn out to be Sheehan's Achilles heel. Today, Stevie Wonder would have seen that it wasn't working. Poor team selection, poor tactics, players out of position, poor substitutions. Players looking unmotivated, struggling to play this negative football. People have been saying that pre-season results don't count. But the football does. Just wtf did he tell them to do? With 4 minutes to go we had a throw-in near their goal area, I found myself shouting at the screen "don't throw it backwards". But backwards it went, and then immediately backwards it was passed further, into our own half. Is it Williamsball as I suggested or Cooperball as others did? I've come to the conclusion it's more Carvalhalball. When he looked like he'd saved our Premier League hides and only needed a few more points to stay up, he got cold feet and played for draws instead of wins. And that cowardice did for us. Today wasn't tactics to "go out there lads and show this rabble how good we are" it was "play it safe lads, it's a nailed-on draw". Cowards football.

In his interview he said a number of new players didn't start as he wanted some continuity from last season in the starting 11. Seems weak to me. Play the strongest team, not the one that makes you feel cozy about when we last played a league game months ago. I think if Widell had played instead of Fulton, with Galbraith and Franco behind him, it would have made a significant difference to our ability to carry the ball forward.

Tidy.

Cowardsball is such the antithesis of balls-out, gung-ho Swanseaball, in so many ways.

Sheehan lacks the fundamentals, the intelligence, the wherewithal, the alignment with our new owners' goals to get us back to our winning identity.

Sheehan Out, 'prompto'

We were playing away, hopefully fulton won't be used in our home game against Sheffield Wednesday as a holding midfielder. 😀

I had my annual ignore amnesty last week so I have started seeing all the shytposting I am usually blissfully unaware of. I really really shouldnt have unignored La Jolla Jack. What a cretin. Oh well. Problem rectified. See you next August... for a few minutes... probably.

I said it before who needs friends when you have swansea fans 😂. Calm done people, yes it wasn't great today and yes pre season wasn't either. But let's all chill out. At this rate we're gonna be onto our next manager by the end of the month. Give the guy a chance. Until Xmas at least 😂😂🎄🎄

What would he have done?

The guy is busy and gets around the pitch but I think we need a lot more than that, namely one of our injured senior CBs, a winger who isn't looking to fall over at every opportunity and a tactical change to allow our striker to get involved in the game.

O'Brien was good for us but he only played 16 games. Part of the reason he looked so good was because he was replacing Grimes.

I reckon Galbraith will prove to be a far better player for us
An O’Brien TYPE not the man himself would have been more active , carried the ball forward more and given us that dynamism we looked devoid of. O’Brien and Grimes positions are completely different - if anything Franco was taking Grimes’ role.
