So what? We have 30 people killed in traffic accidents in this country every week, and we are all OK with that. We won't get rid of cars and they won't get rid of guns.

So you are equating someone deliberately going on a murder spree and road traffic deaths in the UK :?

Are you feeling ok Gwyn?

The United States Constitution aye.

RIP to those killed by this terrorist.

This will be the fault of hard left, communist Nazis or something. I’m sure Tummer will be along at some point to tell us why this is definitely not his sides fault.

You made the distinction yourself when you said "traffic accidents". Shooting people doesn't (often) happen by accident.

U.K. gun-related deaths per 100k is 0.25 per year. US is over 12 per 100k. Around fifty times higher.

Had to check their constitution. Right to arms since 1771. Wow of course things haven't moved on for 250years.

1791

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed

The amendment was put in place to ensure protection against a British re-invasion. Which came in the war of 1812-including the burning of Washington and the White House. Subsequently the supreme court defined this as the right to the individual.
