Looking to the future of Welsh football is a little concerning - I thought that it was shocking that Ward was ditched for Hennessey the moment he was back from injury after he had worked wonders to see us through the end of qualifying and it would have done him no favours.
When you look at defence we have never truly replaced the commanding presence at the back of Ash, Rodon and Cabango have potential but still have a long way to go (Ben especially who has a big mistake in him every other game). Ben Davies is well covered by Nico Williams though Page is hardly using a formation to get the best out of his attacking wingbacks while Roberts doesn't have any real successor yet, though admittedly he has a good few years left in him yet.
Midfield we enjoyed Allen and Ramsey when at the height of their powers, however both are now getting on and we need to blood and groom their successors which Page has not really done very well. Ethan Ampadu gets a lot of praise but every time I watch him I am unconvinced, his positional awareness is often lacking. Attacking midfield in particular is a concern, Harry Wilson is a poor man's Ramsey but might yet grow into that role, Ollie Cooper should have been in the squad but that's another topic for another time.
Up front we have Moore who is our only real striker, Dan James and Brendan Johnson the only real wingers we are offering. We are desperate for depth and need to work hard to find those players and develop them with a view towards the next 6 to 8 years of international football. We are in real danger of this being a golden generation without succession planning leading to a fall into competitive obscurity a la Cameroon from the 90s.
