That would be a massive shock, unless it’s decent cover.

Would rather benda than Fisher. The latter being hopeless at every attribute you would hope a professional goalkeeper would have.

I continue to stand by my opinion that Benda is superior in all aspects to the way that we want to play than Fisher except for one aspect - experience.

As soon as we brought in Fisher we sent Benda out on loan so he didn't get that experience on the bench and in training seeing how we worked with Fisher and how it worked out on the pitch. File this one for me firmly under the "would rather keep" category along with Ogbeta.

Absolutely... not surprised by this at all.

I think Benda has all the attributes to be a top keeper.

Benda put the fear of god into me every time the ball was passed back to him. The number of times he almost had the ball stolen from him was ridiculous.

Spot on. Playing to instruction no other team took those chances last season. Let's hope that changes this season.

I nailed my Benda colours to the mast early. Too good for League One and too good to be a Championship number two. Better off being a PL number two than not playing here. Shame.

Even though I thought Benda looked seriously suspect with his feet, as it showed in the reserve team friendly against Brentford aswell where he had a complete and utter nightmare, I don't really trust Martin's judgement on keepers.

He bombed out Lee Nicholls from MK Dons who was a mainstay in Huddersfield season last year getting to Wembley. Just signed a new long term deal at Hudds.

Yep. Would trust Tremmel's judgment rather than Martin's on this one.

Don’t get this love in with Benda, looked dodgy early on last season and was dropped and replaced by an ageing Ben Hamer for the reasons other posters have previously stated. He was given game time against Brentford B and cost the team 2 goals then as well. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying Andy Fisher is much better, but he gets crucified on here for the same things Benda done.

Benda stops some shots and catches some crosses rather than just watching everything happen shitting himself on his line.

Why on Earth would you want a goal keeper doing those things? ;)

Competent ball playing goalkeepers are at a premium, the well known ones usually are extremely expensive and the unknown ones will always be untested at this level.

I stick by my assertion that Benda can grow to be better than Fisher given experience in and around the first team setup rather than being shipped out on loan elsewhere.
