• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Benda

Manning for me. Benda was excellent. He just Seem's to give the defenders more confidence.

Have said it for the last couple of seasons… Benda is our best keeper. Can’t understand how we sent him out on loan. Peterborough fans raves about him.

I watched him a lot for the U23’s and it was obvious he was a great keeper.

So glad for him.

Even though Benda didn't make the save for the chance that Wood cleared off the line, it was because of his coming out so quickly that it forced Asprilla wide giving him only one angle he could score from, that alone gave Wood the time to get into place to make the block.

A couple of big saves, claimed a couple of crosses and just seems to be growing with every game. No chance with the goal, the fault for it lies with Naughton (mostly) and Cabango (for being still waiting for the ball to come to him, if he had gone towards it he would have beaten Sarr to it).

I like Benda but giving him credit for that is exceptionally generous. The attacker made him look silly. But it's no big deal, it's part and parcel of being a goalkeeper

I disagree, Fisher would likely have either brought him down for a penalty or stayed on his line and not moved when Asprilla took a shot and inevitably scored.

He did look silly but one on ones are difficult and as Baka said, benda did the right thing in coming out towards the attacker forcing him wider than he would of liked. Wood did exceptionally well to cover the open goal. Team game innit.

Coming out to narrow the angle was indeed the right thing to do, but he overcommited and went to smother a ball he had no hope of winning. Thankfully he realised that and pulled out before there was any collision - but not before he'd sold himself and left the attacker with an open goal. Thankfully Wood saved his blushes but let's no pretend it was all part of the plan. His performance had enough positives we don't need to create new ones

IMO

Benda is a very good goalie. We’ve wasted a good chunk of his career here and we are very lucky to have him.

Benda wanted to make the move to Peterborough permanent, but Posh couldn't afford a transfer fee or his wage demands. We are indeed lucky to have him. And he is, arguably, lucky to still be with us.

And I think he is looking happy to still be here even after the last season
