If i got into a cafe, and you can't have black pudding with a breakfast, i go straight back out.

I used to love it but I’ve gone off it. I had a takeaway breakfast in a tray and the black pudding was disgusting... I don’t think I’ve had it since and the thought of it turns my stomach

I remember when we had a week in Ireland with the Swans on tour every morning we were having White Pudding too.

White pudding, now you are talking..... Nicer again.
As my wife hails from Donegal, I have had it regular and would advise anyone who has not tried it to try and have a taste 😋

Cannot beat a bit of black pudding with a cooked brekkie

On a side note yesterday's thread made me have a marmite and cheese toastie at lunchtime today!

Stornoway black pudding is the best I've ever eaten, cooked on a George Foreman grill while staying on Harris.

I bought a full Bury Black Pudding roll from Costco just before Xmas for about £2.50 and we're still eating it. Nobody wanted to try it before but sadly after my attempt at chorizo, black pudding and scallops everyone now likes the stuff. Will give that one a go if I can find it.

Is white pudding an Irish thing then? Because the only time I've come across it was on the Pembroke to Rosslare ferry

Christmas morning I usually have a black pudding and porched egg tower, topped with a few slices of crispy bacon 👌

I’ve had it in Scotland too.

My ultimate black pudding dish (it’s a starter) is a wedge of black pudding, half a grilled tomato, a good drizzle of peppercorn sauce and served with a wedge of crusty bread.

And if you are having a cooked breakfast then a good serving of haggis adds very nicely to it as well

Scollops and a slice of black pudding was a tasty starter I had once in the Cornish harbour of the fantastically named Mousehole

Aldi one has a minty taste to it; it's OK. Best one around is Knipes from Brynhyfryd, £3.50 for a big one. Ooh-er

Another great food item! £2.40 for one of these:

Goes well with brekky as Phil says but equally good with neeps, tatties, mushy peas and gravy.

There were a couple of shout outs for white pudding earlier in the thread so time for a bump.

Had a sleeve of this for brekkie this morning. Took my time and boiled it as opposed to the microwave option and it turned out perfect. Tremendous stuff from this butcher.

It’s in Morrison’s for those that want to dabble.
