• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

There are no winners here. One life is taken for extreme views ( too kill someone in cold blood) and probably and undoubtedly Trump will try and issue the death penalty to the young man if he has any influence in the decision.
Sadly, I think you're exactly right. Despite the wise words of the Republican governor of Utah, I don't think those running the American government have any interest in attempting to tone down the rhetoric and trying to calm the situation. A cynic would suggest a country in turmoil is exactly what they want, as it's easier for them to line their own pockets in the chaos...

It's clear those are photos from some kind of Armed Forces event and although they're handling those weapons, they are clearly not going to be using them.

It is America though, so of course the guy would have many, many opportunities to shoot guns. A right which was ironically very important to Kirk of course.

What about his brothers lovely Chrimbo prezzie?

It was a very precise shot from distance for an untrained mixed up kid
He probably had some experience and at 200 yards whilst resting the rifle you would expect to be within 1 inch of the point of aim unless there was a howling gale.

According to X, it's a pretty easy shot from that distance. It's absolutely crazy how they allow firearms in the USA, imagine popping to Aldi now and having a gun, just for safety. It's nuts.

You were doing well with your first sentence then it fell apart.

You wouldn't have to look far for disgusting sentiments coming from the right over social media in the days after Vance Boelter killed a Democratic politician and her husband, shot another Democrat and his wife multiple times and had plans to target 70 Democrats. The scumbags are on both sides. I'd argue the worst comes from the Right, but I also admit I'm biased in that regard.

That is exactly the point of the discussion Jack. People on both the left and right think that it's ok to post disgusting things online when something horrendous happens. I personally think that goes beyond freedom of speech.

Apparently the odd gun death is ok, though.....

30 people have sadly lost their lives to knife crime in London in 2025 (6 by gunshot). Not defending the gun laws in America, just stating a fact.

The best explanation I ever saw around the crazy gun death levels in the US came in Bowling For Columbine. There are as many guns in Canada per head and yet they 1000 times fewer gun deaths. Its a very good film. This section stuck in my mind.

Quite possible one of the weakest attempts of whataboutery I’ve ever seen.

Sorry Smurph. I was just stating a fact. The point is people are allowed to discuss their views. Whether everyone agrees with their view is a different matter. People are far to quick to silence other people who they don't agree with.

We live with this all the time.

It's a very very scary place to be with Loony Lefty Leaders casting they're dark shadows over our world.

This thread alone shows the Lefties all up for being irrational and scarily incoherent in their shouty dialogues.
The Swansea International School of Language has done a superb job on you, in a very short space of time. 👏🏽 👏🏽

48000 gun deaths in USA in 2024.

350 odd MASS shootings so far in USA this year.

Now what?
