Colours Nailed and all that

Southampton, Norwich, West Brom and Leicester all prove my point, now they certainly have better players than us, two of them have rescued their seasons and two are stuck in the bottom of the table.

I wouldn't say West Brom have better players than us , throw in poor management appointments
Southampton & Leicester should have better players many who played in the Premier League last season .
Both these sides made poor management decisions.
Southampton now a good bet for the playoff after a change in manager .
Leicester are a basket case .
Norwich have made a good appointment with a good January transfer window .

It’s amazing how far some people will go when they have an attachment to a certain manager or player, our results away from home have been poor, apart from SW our home performances have been less than convincing as well, we could easily have been three down at half time on Tuesday and Bristol City could quite easily have beaten us on another day.
On another day we could have beaten Coventry City away if we had converted golden chances......its the Championship......
Typical overreaction following a couple of dissapointing results.....
I suspect Vip was reted yesterday .....Ipswich was never a game we woukd expect to win up there given where we are....but our jext couple of home games are key better ri have Vip for those.

Its all about opiniins

We were performing as a top 4 team under Matos over a 15 game spell I'm not exactly sure what people want and why this discourse has happened over one poor performance against a team which will most probably finish in the top 2.

We're not a top 4 team so as football naturally does we will start to see a regression back to what we are over the next set of games. That of course doesn't mean tweaks and changes aren't needed especially away from home but hopefully with a pre season and summer window under his belt we will see that.

I will keep banging this drum but we need to leave the winger position behind next season and move to a 3 4 3. It suits the better players of our squad more (Galbraith, Tymon, Cabango)
I think it's to do with our poor away form.
Home form is great but clearly there are issues away from home that needs to addressed.

It's better but not as Rosey that might be made out with some.....also not as bad as others are making out also.

Not one for using expletives but FFS some are going way off track regarding my OP.

Tell me where I said we should be getting rid of the manager, I’m merely pointing out the shortcomings as I see them.

Ask Southampton or Norwich fans if they had a poor squad of players, I’m pretty sure they’d tell you that previous managers were not getting the best out of the players at their disposal…..it really is as simple as that!!

What sort of name is Dilwyn for a dog anyway, what happened to Rex, Butch or Lassie, the world has gone mad mun, can’t imagine anyone shedding a tear watching a film where Dilwyn was the dog in it.

Nobody is denying something needs to change away from home but I feel like the results look worse then performances suggest in those games.

Stoke, Hull, Cov and even Milwall to an extent (I know we were battered first half but we still conceded last minute) are all games we deserved to pick point/s up in.

The average position of the teams we have faced away in this spell is 6th. Including 4 of the top 6 (soon to be 5 after Wrexham) so is it really a suprise we have lost a majority of these games?

I think you answered the question in your 2nd paragraph really...we deserved something in those games but got nothing. One game you could understand but the law of averages would suggest we got a point at least somewhere but didn't from those games.
Could well be a mindset thing, we really need to be targeting something from these upcoming away games and playing our top scorer would help as suggested by some.

The strength and conditioning coaches would have provided Matos with their data driven recommendation on whether Vipnotnik was physically capable of handling a full game or just a partial game, hence why he was on the bench.

Yes he is our top scorer, no he's not a machine.

Personally I think it makes sense to sometimes rest our best players when against a team we have very little chance of beating and saving their energy for the closer match up. I know ideally you want to compete at every game. But with injuries sometimes it’s just not possible and sacrifices have to be made somewhere.

I see your point but I am always reminded of that run we went on at the end of Martin’s second season. Performances picked up a while before the results did, sometimes you can perform well consistently and not end up on the right side of things.

It’s just not a very large data set of games to be making any claims about averages. It’s been a combination of a very tough run of away games and a spell of unlucky results. It’s just too early to draw conclusions about it yet

Agreed, especially when the player in question is our only fit striker
