Very interesting, hopefully they shake things up.

and hopefully knock that TNS off the top spot, its getting boring up there now

They seem happy with their decision to leave the English pyramid. Getting crowds of over a thousand and redeveloping the ground.

Seems the consensus at Merthyr is that they will persist in the English leagues. They do seem to have turned a corner after a few poor years.

Won 5-0 today.

Another day closer to promotion.
Champagne is on ice. getting ready.

There is a buzz with football in North Wales at the moment,

Colwyn Bay are as good as promoted. Just need Wrexham to nail it.

Yesterday result
Porthmadog 0-2 Colwyn Bay

Colwyn Bay have played 26 leagues games this season, winning 24 of them and drawn 2.
They are going to be the club to knock TNS off their precious top spot in the welsh prem next season.

the Bay have 4 games left to play this season. On one of those games they will be celebrating promotion.

Come on the Bay.

(Wrexham also set a club record yesterday for longest unbeaten run in the league)

Football in North Wales is on the up, especially when these two get promoted.

SHOCK

Today Colwyn Bay suffered their first league loss this season. Against 2nd place Holywell.

Colwyn Bay have three remaining games left to play of the season, two of which are home and away against Penrhyncoch (who are as good as relegated after today)
Win them two and Colwyn Bay are a Cymru Premier League club.
Its going to be a nervy end to the season.

On a side note, all five games in the Cymru Prem today had a combined attendance of around 1440. Colwyn Bay alone had an attendance of 1330 today.

So less than 30 people attended the other four games?

Much rather see them fighting it out with Merthyr Tidvil in the Vauxhall Conference. Welsh Prem stinks of giving up.

I went there a couple of years ago as it happens, cup game, decent crowd, decent ground, nice old fashioned place, the feel of a real football club.

God bless you Dar, the 5 games that got a combined 1440 attendance yesterday was in the welsh prem.
Colwyn Bay got 1330 yesterday and they are in the league below.

agreed, i went up to watch them when they played in the english set up, they got as far as the conference north not that long ago didnt they? The chance to play in the FA cup, and a possible promotion to the conference. Then they fell down a few divisions.
I got talking to one of the directors of Colwyn Bay at a football match in Ammanford a couple of years ago, and he said although they didn't support the move to the Welsh system they would have undoubtely folded if they carried on as they were. All to do with financial reasons just for the club to stay alive.
They were averaging crowds of around 200 in the English leagues. They have hit attendances over 1000 since leaving the English system.
They just need to win 2 of their remaining 3 games and they are in the Welsh prem, where knocking TNS off the top and a chance to play in Europe awaits them.

Christ on a bike, look at the crowd Wrexham are pulling in these days even for a woman's fixture! Chwarae teg!! 👍

I think North Wales football needs this. We have been too spoilt in the south over the last decade or so.

Wrexham back in the football league hopefully.
Colwyn Bay in to the Welsh Prem.

Both scenarios would do wonders for the game up north.
