Cruise Holidays

Fjords is a lovely cruise, but be careful. The beautiful ones (gerainger etc) are not the ones for the northern lights (eg Tromso). Our northern lights cruise was a real disappointment. Sheets of constant rain and couldn’t see the sky never mind any cosmic phenomenon and pretty ugly uninspiring stops.
Gerainger is pretty much no go for cruise ships after this year-essentially only electric or liquid gas powered. P & O have used nearby Hellesylt this year, but changing to visit Flam instead.

Gerainger is stunningly pretty though.

We just did the Fjords with P & O and was great. If you want a Benidorm-style experience it's there but if you want quiet civilisation it's also there. Modern ships are so large they can cater to multiple tastes.
The Fjords and indeed Stavanger are great. A damp day in Haugesund was about as interesting as a damp day in Neath though. Would have just stayed on the ship. Certainly less stressful than Manchester Airport

Oi Oi don't go slagging Neath off, some of us unfortunate ones live here :(

Thank you all, I appreciate the feedback. Since Saturday I've watched countless hours of YouTube vids on cruising, almost consider myself an expert now.

Ship ahoy!

Cruise holidays are Butlins / Center Parks for the plebs, on Sea.

It takes a certain type of punter to choose to Cruise, and then publicise that fact.

Coops sounds capable enough to charter a smallish yacht and sail the Sthn Med. Competitively priced, with a hired captain if needs be.

Cruise to lose.

Grainger is lovely, the trip along it's fjord was great as well. Alesund on a sunny day is beautiful too.

Flam is lovely. If you are into easy cycling, take the train from Flam to the mountain then disembark and hire a bike for a 20km descent on a perfect cycle path.

Easy cycling and 20km?

I think we have different opinions on the word "easy" 😂
(even downhill)
