Euro 2025 - Women

Well you should know by now I only speak the truth.
You’re not saying they’re any good are you Lis?
I think they’re doing great for the adversity they’ve had to overcome.

One of the French players has more experience than the whole Welsh squad put together.

They’ve been badly let down for decades and are only now beginning to catch up. It will take a while. Same as it did with the men’s team when they were 120 something in the world.

Lets Mr spock it..........lowest rated at the event, yestrday playing a more experienced and on paper a much better team, lost 4-1 , 3 of which can be put down to errors, or inexperience.

They weren expected to do well, but in our eyes they have they competed stuck in there and won the fans over, its tournament to learn, and build on, theyve won already, the failure will come of they dont do that.

Expetced to lose heavily against the lionesses , just hoping Welsh pride will prove us wrong,

I agree. I'm not too downhearted, they've already exceeded my expectations with their level of play. it's all about learning from the experience and taking it forward. I bet the goalie has already learned "don't get caught on the ball in the penalty area, put your laces through it, into touch, up the field, out for a corner, whatever!".

The difference in experience showed in both games. Two goals given away in stoppage time of half time, in both cases if they hadn't been conceded they would have gone in level at half time and the team talk and tactics would have been completely different.

The biggest challenge of all that the women's team faces right now is getting the FAW to get off their arses and properly support the women's game and build on the legacy that the players out there now are trying to establish.

Agreed. The standard of the Adran league is too low-the fact that Cardiff Met have won it six times (as have the Swans) shows how poor FAW support has been. In fairness Cardiff and Wrexham have finally got on board but it needs greater FAW support and profile. The Women's Superleague, the US and big European clubs like Barca and Lyon will always take the cream like Jess Fishlock, but it could be a better development league.

The response from the Wales fans after full time and the players shows how far they have come.

In a mans game they would probably have been booed off,

Put the shovel/fishing line down for a bit mun.

If people want to rejoice in a 4-1 loss that’s fine,I have no problem in that.
It’s not the way I’ve been brought up sorry.
It’s been a very disappointing tournament for Wales and that’s a fact.

I go to the Dot Com and before some games someone will say to me “I’ll take a draw today.”
Fuck off is it? Sport is meant to be about winning not about a load of soppy shit.
From what I’ve seen Wales just happy to be there and nothing else matters.
