Goodbye Fulton

It’s embarrassing that we now see players with a bit of “ dog” as worthy of a place in the side

It's more embarassing to see players who have done better than most this season suddenly deemed as "league one at best" after one unfortunate (although deserved) red card.

But Yan Dhanda and Cullen are League Two at best, but they were the options off the bench which screams volumes by the route we're going down

Oh come on, he consistently concedes needless free kicks with niggling tackles, one paced and not good enough....simples.

I blame ‘ambition’ myself. Where the manager does a brilliant job getting into the playoffs final given the player resources at his disposal, including no striker. The problem I’ve got is that I find it excruciatingly boring, and, to be honest, a waste of my precious time. If it remains the same next season I might give the Swans a miss and go and watch local football or even the Scarlets, at least it will be entertaining.

Honestly mate, I don’t think watching the Scarlets would be more exciting.

Slightly surprised by the meltdown tbh. The game was lost before Fulton’s unfortunate but correctly called red. We have the players but as always these things start and end with the manager, and ours, whilst achieving a level of success, just can’t get the team going some days. Today was one of those days.

That was a weird red card for me. He didn't mean to take him out like that, he stood on the other chaps heel / back of his boot, and it seemed to get stuck and take his own leg with him. No question it was a red mind. F*ck all wrong with Fulton the player, he's had a decent enough season. Now if you want to talk about Hourihane...

What an embarrassing thread.

Why is it embarrassing, the midfield in terms of creativity have been non existent , not on his own agreed, but as a Championship player he’s not good enough, Fulton, Byers and Kingsley bang average.

Exactly how it looked to me. To the ref it probably looked like a lunge but he got a stud caught in the other guy’s boot and got a tow. Shit happens.

So people are saying he’s not good enough for the championship? He played premier league football not long ago and he wasn’t awful!

Maybe our style of play is what it is because we only have players like Fulton available?

Just a thought.

Why were we playing considerably better football under Potter and the first half of this season? Smith, Grimes, Roberts, Ayew, Lowe, Routledge Hourihane, there are not limited players

We had a considerably better squad under Potter.

I don’t think Cooper is very good, but equally I do think our squad is very limited. We just don’t have the creative spark anywhere in the middle. Nor any pace. Without one of those it’s hard to see where our attacking options are. Hourihane is as limited as it gets btw. He wasn’t a few years ago, but is now.

Anyway, I think Cooper will go, so we’ll see what he does wherever he ends up and also what whoever comes here does with us going forward.

He’s a decent enough Championship holder midfielder. The problem is the other midfielders are doing exactly the same job as him, even though Hourihane is not suited to it at all. With the three of them in there together there’s barely an ounce of creativity.

Fulton is deceptively creative and has a great touch when allowed to get forward which goes against the workhorse role that he has been pushed into under Cooper. His best role is box to box being able to join in attacks as well as breaking up play in the middle of the pitch.

His red card was completely accidental, he was looking at the player and not where his feet were going. He caught the guy in the achilles but somehow his boot got stuck with the other guy's and he got dragged along and to the ref at the time it definitely would have looked like a two footed lunge.

Absolutely not deliberate foul play in my eyes, now Grimes I thought was lucky to get away with one less than ten minutes in which was ten times more a red card than the one that was given to Fulton.
