• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Goodbye Ryan Manning

How’s McFayden doing In the U23s? Is he ready to step up? Heard promising things about him.

He's been effective as a forward-thinking wingback since he arrived, seemingly a perfect fit for Martin's preferred system. Gets into the box, plenty of chances to score every game. Had a couple of short-term injuries I think, but nothing to really explain the complete lack of interest shown in helping him along since his new contract over a year ago.

Just turned 21 so needs to be playing senior football if he's to ever become an asset to the club.

He'd be in squad tonight if I had my way. Always looked good for U21/23s from what I have seen.

As you say, he's 21 now, time to take a chance on him.

Should have gone to Specsavers.

I'd like to think that Ogbeta has gone out on loan to get first team game time so he can come back and be Manning's replacement. I'd like to think that, but I don't.

Same feeling many had when Whittaker sent out on loan to Plymouth “ to develop”,which he did and when we recalled him ,some thought his progress would be rewarding by his being a nailed on starter, not one who is given five mins at the death. If Martin is a good coach, why is it young players are sent out to “ develop”under the tutelage of others.
Truth is ,he has developed nobody as regards improvement at all. Our goalkeeper looks traumatised standing in the goalmouth ,wide eyed ,legless and dumbstruck .

Premium managers have seen through him and few young potential stars will be sent to us simply to sit of the bench.
