Has he gone? Or if not when will it happen?

On the subject of Williams needing to "make it up" to the Swans fanbase, it's relatively easy for him - just beat Cardiff in a couple of weeks and there will be a clamour to extend his contract indefinitely

Russy dined out for two years on four wins...

But if he loses…

High stakes 🤣

That link goes to X

My thoughts a third option.

We don’t know the full facts. There could quite possibly be something, even through his agent. Or it could be his poor attempt at light hearted banter with journalists.

In the end it will come down to what the club know or believe. Until maybe after the press conference today at a push I’d say he’s staying ( for now)
In saying that results and performances must improve as this won’t be forgotten.

There is also another theory floating around that ties in with the rumour from a week or so ago that the new owners wanted a new man in. And that has led to the comments that they have done nothing to extinguish and that Williams is on his way with the WBA links being nothing much more than agent speculation

I personally think the relationship between club and manager has broken down and was possibly even on that route before the links started

Do we now have options 1,2,3,4 😀

We never seem to have a quiet period supporting this club do we 👍

You’d think they’d do it in the summer and not half way through a season.

Should be good then...

We don't lose to teams below us n the league apparently 😬

Of course he can carry on, but he’ll need to win more games than he has, the team will need to play better and differently and he probably now has very little margin for error with the club or the fans. So in essence, he’s done, as he’s a ten a penny painting by numbers manager. The only real question is how much it will cost the club and when. I expect him to grovel about how much he loves the cloob and the JA, and talk about ‘misunderstandings’ ‘unfounded rumours’ and ‘context’ in his presser.

I’d think he certainly won’t have any role in any January transfers.

Oh, and, yes, he can’t lose at the piggery.

I'm not sure the relationship has broken down as such, but it wouldn't surprise me if the new ownership group were starting to think about a change. Simply because that's what usually happens when a club changes hands, they want to have their own man in sooner rather than later.

I think it would be very harsh to get rid of him right now when we're 12th and 11 points off relegation with over half a season gone. We're not good enough to make the playoffs, so there's little point in sacking him and risk making things worse.

If they are thinking of making a change, my bet is they just won't give him much dosh in this window and then pull the plug at the end of May.

I am surprised by the number of people in general trying to play this down as agents playing silly buggers as if agents aren't employees of the people that they represent. If Williams' agent has been sounding out other clubs, he's not likely to be doing it without at least his knowledge.

For me it all points towards a breakdown in working relationships and a parting of the ways, by poaching or sacking, is the most likely outcome.

That sounds entirely logical and reasonable. It also gives him a chance to prove he can cut it, and then everyone might have choices and it ends better than it looks like it might. We might even want to extend! Stranger things have happened. I don’t think he’s up to it at all, but that doesn’t mean he’s not up to it.

I’m not a legal bod but have a vague memory that in law agents and principals are treated as one and the same and that agents are assumed to act with direct agreement of principals and can commit them. That might be bollocks…

Certainly he cannot wash his hands of the actions of his agent as if it’s not his responsibility.
