Possibly and there's unlikely to ever be proof over something like that so they can say what they like.

However, I think Williams has handled it very poorly, one way or another. I don't know whether he's been hedging his bets, openly making it clear he's interested in moving or simply saying the wrong thing/not understanding how analysed it will all be... Whatever though, it probably warrants a word from above and a re-think for the next time it happens.

Yeah, I’m a bit confused by it all. Confused by why they’d want him, confused by how much people read into his bland answers to a daft question at a presser, and confused by the reaction to the whole thing.
