Williams quote a few minutes ago

“As I said, I thought it was a wind up. I’ve heard nothing. I’ve probably not taken it as seriously as I should have. Someone sent me a screenshot saying I was having conversations and that my agent was talking to them. Don’t waste your money (betting on it). Absolutely nothing in it. I thought it was absurd. I’ve not only been here one year. We’ve only just secured Ben Cabango. Cullen and Allen are in the national team. I’m sorry if I didn’t take it seriously enough, but I thought it was quite funny. I’m glad it’s over and I want to make Swansea as good as they can possibly be.”

But did he categorically say he wasn’t interested and was staying with Swansea. Did he swear on any of his families lives? 👀👀🤣

I mean, the swans online fan base is notoriously mental and has been for decades. But the frenzy that’s been whipped up by this massive nothingburger surpasses the lot.

Not sure if we should be offended or not that our manager thinks it's hilarious that another team would think he's doing a good enough job to be poached:ROFLMAO:

Yes.
If a manager swears love of the club and says they’ll never leave they’re hated for it when they inevitably do, but if there’s speculation about a manager some of our fans want him to say he’s definitely not leaving.

So even though there was mass media and social media speculation, he's claiming that he was the last to know about it?

So members of his family, his friends, Swans staff or even his agent didn't tell him he was being linked to the WBA job?

I get what he's saying but he doesn't help himself in the press does he?

Why not come out and say that straight from the off? Dancing around it after the the rumours and then that performance against Portsmouth, how could he not take it seriously?

Come off it he was hoping his agent would secure the deal to go to West Brom, it hasn’t happened and now he’s happy to be here.

If that doesn't scream damage limitation press conference, then I don't know what does.
He knows he's f*cked up here.
All the grovelling will mean nothing if he's so easily turned by (what turned out to be) speculation.

Because it wasn't serious in the beginning.
