• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Happy anniversary for yesterday, Mr and Mrs Max. That’s a good innings, forty one years.

Cheers Coops, It was going well until she told me how she spent in Cardiff yesterday and we haven't got a tree yet :LOL:We chucked the one we have had for years after last Christmas it was starting to fall apart.

There's a really nice man, from Romania, who is homeless and he sleeps at the back of a shopping centre near Cardiff.
When I go there I do a shop in M&S for him and his two dogs (rotisserie chicken, cheese, bread, fruit, hot chololate) to keep them warm.

I wanted to offer him work in one of my businesses and he was keen - but he doesn't have any papers whatsoever. Without these he can't get a NI number or EU Passport, so I can't employ him as he has no right to work here.

It's a sad ever vicious circle.

He'll need a place of residency to get papers, if he's here illegally then he's cooked.

I believe there is a way of getting undocumented immigrants sponsored. I'm not sure how complicated it is, though.

Darran will let you borrow some of his baubles.

There was a show on the homeless in Swansea not so long back. One of the men on there was given a flat, he couldn’t hack living inside and was back out on the street in a week.
A very common story. I Was in sheltered accommodation myself about 16 years ago when my drinking got out of hand. I was homeless myself, but only for a short while. There was guy who "lived" there at the same time I was there and in 18 months they maybe got him to stay there 10 times. He didn't view it as a home, he viewed it as a prison. For some homeless people, it is a very definite choice. He was my age and he died over a decade ago, on the streets, drunk and alone.

Not to bad Smurph, I get my moments though, I'd like to thank the posters who have perked me up with their support through the DM's sent, the list is endless.(y)
Always here if you ever need someone to speak with. I may not be good at many things, I am a decent listener though 👍🏼
