• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

There's a really nice man, from Romania, who is homeless and he sleeps at the back of a shopping centre near Cardiff.
When I go there I do a shop in M&S for him and his two dogs (rotisserie chicken, cheese, bread, fruit, hot chololate) to keep them warm.

I wanted to offer him work in one of my businesses and he was keen - but he doesn't have any papers whatsoever. Without these he can't get a NI number or EU Passport, so I can't employ him as he has no right to work here.

It's a sad ever vicious circle.
A lovely effort from you though.

A very common story. I Was in sheltered accommodation myself about 16 years ago when my drinking got out of hand. I was homeless myself, but only for a short while. There was guy who "lived" there at the same time I was there and in 18 months they maybe got him to stay there 10 times. He didn't view it as a home, he viewed it as a prison. For some homeless people, it is a very definite choice. He was my age and he died over a decade ago, on the streets, drunk and alone.
Thanks for sharing what must have been a deeply tough time in your life with us. It's really pleasing to hear that you managed to turn things around. 🙏

Is at a record level. Our very own have nowhere to go, whilst estates are springing up to house immigrants.
Some will shout out 'racist', I couldn't give a fck....its a fact.
You’re not speaking the truth here you’re talking twaddle.

Homelessness is not a fault of immigration. It is a very, very complicated issue with drugs at the heart and mental health issues.

If we really wanted to sort this problem out we would clean up the streets and invest in rehabilitation.

What is it with some people? They literally blame everything on immigration. If it has any impact it’s at the margins.

I’m not calling you a racist btw. I hate that kind of nonsense. But I think you’re misinformed on this.

Tbh, ask yourself this. Was the homelessness issue as bad as it currently is maybe 9/10 yrs ago ?
Right, now we've agreed that it wasn't, look back over that time at the rate of numbers we've taken in from abroad. It's literally nuts.
It's basic common senses that we've let way too many in, and they are taking up homes that should be for our own.
Pretty sure that ain't twaddle pal.

That correlates with the time there’s been higher immigration (thanks Brexit) that doesn’t mean a causal relationship between the two variables.

I happen to believe immigration is too high. But then I always knew this would be the outcome of that stupid referendum.

Yeah, you dress it up which ever way you fancy. You know I'm right.

No I don’t. As I said in a previous post it might have an impact at the margins but it isn’t the reason by any stretch.

If you can prove to me the evidence for your analysis beyond your feelings then I’m happy to retract.

It's not for me to prove, a basic simpleton will see/know has and is happening.
It's for you to argue its not happening. You basically can't.
