• We have today (22nd April) confirmed the closure of JackArmy.net on 31st May. Our reasons are varied but after a twenty-five year stint at the heart of the online Swansea City community, the time is right for us to bow out. You can read more at the link below https://jackarmy.net/2026/04/22/jackarmy-net-twenty-five-years-and-out/

That April is not only Autism Acceptance Month but also Jazz Appreciation Month too.
Both things are very close to my heart. ❤️
Why not give jazz a try?
It takes in many different styles and probably has a lot of the greatest musicians to have ever picked up an instrument.
A lot of jazz music is about improvisation, just like rock and prog rock, and many world renowned rock artists were based in jazz somewhere along the way.
Go on, try it this month. Not just one style but a few.
Did you ever like Earth Wind and Fire?
Swansea jazz club has one of the members of this band playing in our club with his band in June.
Mo Pleasure has played at our club many times, as has Hamish Stewart, a long time member of The Average White Band and Ringo’s All Star Band.
Hamish is playing along with his band again at our club in July.
As you see, jazz includes all music styles and isn’t all trad bands or way off the wall modern stuff.
Take a look at our programme for the next few months, you never know you might just fancy something.

Jazz Acceptance Month - fair enough.

Don't mind a bit, enjoyed skiffle in a pub in Jesmond on a Newcastle weekend for a Swans game.

It’s actually jazz “appreciation” month but I’ll “accept” anything, thank you. Enjoy.
