Doing a little piece on The Cavalier club, Swansea.
It'll be on in a minute or two. 👍

Where is this in relation to the New York? That’s the only place on Princess Way that I remember. I think that had an upstairs and downstairs in my day (up to about 1981). Is this what happened to the old upstairs bar, or someplace else?

Further up the road on the left wasn’t it not far from The Buccaneer.

There was a door opposite David Evan's on Princess Way. The old BHS store. The bar they showed was on the upper floor. There was no bar on the ground floor. Just checked with the missus, it was one of the first clubs she went to back in the 80s. TBH never frequented the place myself as it goes.

The Buccaneer was roughly down where the Quadrant entrance is now, opposite where Primark is now. St Mary's street as is👍

Ah, got you now. Much further up. Never went there then. Remember Xkeys and Buck (if anyone ever asked where the Buccaneer was, my brother would always answer ‘about 3 feet from its bucking arse’ 🙄).

BHS had an in store bakery and I think the club was directly above it.
Pretty sure I tried getting in as a schoolboy only to be thrown out

Not the clearest of images but The Buccaneer is the white building on the right hand side.

Thrown out of the bakery or the nightclub Dicky?
