If you look at Ipswich as a comparison, they’ve gone almost the completely opposite way. Their promotion team from League 1 and the Championships was almost exclusively UK and Ireland players. I think their manager is even on record saying he prefers to work with British/Irish players as they’re all familiar with the FA coaching framework and it help communication.

But then Brentford and Brighton have been successful with majority overseas players.

Maybe there’s no one best approach to recruitment other than don’t be shit at it!

Probably a little annoyance given they gave him a decent contract and he made out that he was all Swansea.

It's only a statement saying they've accepted a bid to be fair. Once the deal is done, I'm sure there'll be a longer club announcement, thanking Grimes for his service etc
