Probably a little annoyance given they gave him a decent contract and he made out that he was all Swansea.

Club come calling with a concrete offer of more money and he was off as quick as anything.
It is my opinion but it is Coventry's money problem now. I have never ever been able to understand the love in for for him. He plays one position and it has hamstrung us for a good few years now. It is exciting that we may see a much more attacking minded team but Williams may try an adopt a similar role with another player but at least they won't be yellow in the tackle.
A midfielder not getting injured for that long is not a testament to his ability it is highlighting that he doesnt do one major part of a cdm.
Coventry are going to be stuck with that wage and we have some money to get something and on a more realistic wage.

I think he is a very capable, limited in his style but certainly a capable player.

I agree that Coventry are now stuck with his wage, a player who will be nearly 30 and probably his best days behind him.
We now have an opportunity now that our highest earner is off the books and a nice fee to help us sort.

Be good to have the other nous around our neck in Pedersen gone when his contract expires in the summer

Luke said we offered him more money as well.

A few rumours that Sheehan may be brought in as a replacement for the holding midfielder role

We’ve all just said getting rid of Grimes for 4M for a nearly 30 year old is good business and now we’re being linked to nearly 30 year old Sheehan to replace him 🙈

See, this is the sort of thing that bugs me. He may not light up the stratosphere but he is a good, proven Championship player. And for 1m. We, on the other hand, are looking at little wingers in French League 2 for 2m. I'm sorry, we're a joke

Absolutely

Where this has come from I don't know. He signed a new contract tying him to Bolton to 2027 in November. All I've seen FLW saying that's where we could look to replace Grimes. More smoke screens in my opinion.
