• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Vile person, but says what a lot of people think in this matter. It's a tick box exercise.

If Sky or TNT have a female commentator I'll try and find another source to view the game.

Crikey. You'd rather listen to some brainless boring inarticulate turd that they shove on these things just because it's male.

Incredible.

Speak for yourself mate.

The number of commentators I consider 'good' is very small and there are a hell of a lot of male commentators not on that list. Automatically choosing not to watch a game just because the commentator is female without even giving them a chance is bonkers.

Aye give me Wyndham Evans over a silly woman anytime...

There are plenty of terrible women commentators like men.

Lianne Sanderson for example is atrocious on TalkSport but then equally baffling is Lee Hendrie or Stephen Warnock.
.
It shouldn't be about whether they're female or male - just whether they're up to the job.

The guy is a complete tw@t, but I Agee with the box ticking and quotas part of it.
It drives me nuts that you have to have a woman on a sports panel no matter what.

How do people manage to watch the game live in the stadium without someone telling them what is going on? Dew dew mun.

As for Barton, about as vile as they come for a professional sportsmen.

I have heard one woman commenting on sport that I actually liked. It was men's cricket and she sounded like Katie Boyle, very laid back, relaxed and with a lot of insight.

Every woman commenting on football I have heard is trying to do the 90 minute orgasm. It is just unbearable to listen to.

I never said not watching a game because of a female commentator, just finding a different source to watch it.

Screeching woman, and filling silence with talk just for the sake of it. No thanks. Sky had a great option years ago, you could select stadium noise only.

Football Focus is the worst offender with box ticking, totally unrepresentative of the men's football watching public.

Simple for me.

There are some awful pundits out there, male and female.

Some good ones, male and female.

The female presenters I find, on the whole, are better than the men. Kelly Cates and Gabby Logan are brilliant. I don't see their equals anywhere amongst the male presenters.

I do have a bit of a problem with the false equivalence of trying to hold up 100 caps/appearances for a Men's Team with 100 caps/appearances for a Women's Team. It isn't the same. It just isn't.

Joey Barton? Vile individual. He's just trying to get a gig on GB News.

Female pundits ( with exception of Alex Scott) are by n large ok. Just don't have em commentating on the game.
Alex Scott is the epitome of box ticking.

Which says way more about you than it does about anything else.

Box ticking and what exactly?
