Kier Starmer

The most unpopular PM in British history.

Surely he isn't going to last much longer, let alone his whole term?
It's ridiculous. He's a decent bloke, unlike Johnson, Truss, Pig-F****r, Blair and Snatcher. The irony is, he genuinely cares about violence against girls, and that's what'll probably do for him. What was he thinking?

He isn't a leader though, he's a manager. Scared of anything remotely radical. We all wanted 'boring', or I did, but some direction and hope ffs. A massive majority and the best and probably last chance wasted. Mark this though, Streeting would be no better, probably worse. I don't like Burnham much, but he was the only hope in my view of turning this ship around, as I don't think they'll trust Raynor at this juncture.

Agree. Streeting was personally much closer to Mandelson than Starmer apparently. Starmer’s political judgement has been awful though. Really disappointing. Had high hopes.

Talking of high hopes, I was hoping for the gelato shop in Giovinazzo to be open last Wednesday, and it duly was. In agreement with the rest of the above.

Starmer played with a massive bonfire in appointing Mandelson as he did, and got his fingers badly burned.

I have every sympathy for him and his Government in not getting due credit for all those important things that are slowly but surely improving, as they are up against a stridently loud right wing faction of the news media outlets and right wing leaning algorithms on social media.

The cacophony coming from all angles courtesy of these platforms is bewildering at times, and I fail to see any balance or neutrality in the reporting that I hear or see.

However, I am unable to muster any sympathy for KS’s decision to appoint the “minister without basic principles” to such an important role.

If as is likely, his days are numbered, the truth of the matter is that he only has himself to blame in this instance, as anything involving the presence of Mandelson was bound to end in tears.

Difficult to argue with any of this. I hope he does survive cos the last thing this country needs is yet another new prime minister. But Mandelson is peak level self harm.

Gorton and Denton is going to reveal a great deal about how bad things have got for him.

What price on a Green victory?

So much opinion these days is formed from the social media bubble. I’ve watched people I’ve known for years (and while we haven’t always agreed they were always at least vaguely sensible) devolve into frothing idiots because they swallow every last thing the bots on Twitter and WhatsApp feed them. I’ve heard of TDS but SDS is even stronger in some.
I thought SDS was a type of drill?

That’s a new derogatory word for me.
Obviously I'm not a fan of his, then again I'm not a fan of any of them, I don't feel that there is anyone who you can trust have any faith in these days.
I don't want Labour back in, in Wales and I certainly don't want their butties Plaid in either, I reckon they'll be even more radical and wasteful.
Reform is another no go, especially now that snidey horrible twat Jenrick is now there, Reform is now now the retirement home for the failed torys.

Anyway Im off to my cot, work in morning
