Looks sharp to me, and no mug in the air either, would like to see him in the 9 role next round with Whittaker and Jamz either side, Piroe is the main man at present so will be rested regular in these games.

Glad to hear Joseph looked good. It's Andy Scott's third year in charge of recruitment and his signings will probably be more important now we're not loaning Cooper's U-17 squad players any more.

I'd say he's done alright so far, with players that have been either a partial or total success for me including:
- Bidwell (Free)
- Smith (Free)
- Lowe
- Latibeaudiere
- Bennett (Free?)
- Manning
- Whittaker

The failures would be:
- Peterson
- Freeman (Free)
- Morris, Arriola and Hourihane all have to go here too, as presumably he signed off on those deals, but at least they were only loans.

So far this season, there's been varying levels of promise shown by Piroe, Joseph, Downes and Paterson (free), while we wait to see if Walsh (free) can stay fit long enough to make an impression.

It's not a bad record so far is it? Not many home run type signings, but not too many total duds either. The relative success of so many free transfers says something about his eye for a bargain too.

You could argue that Peterson and Morris could have succeeded under different management too.

I think he's doing okay.

I agree its pretty good, I think Morris would have been good if it wasnt for that terrible injury.

Talking of Hourihane, saw him a bit for Villa in the League Cup last night. Ducked out of at least two challenges in the moments I saw

The three biggest disappointments of last season (off the top of my head): The playoff final, the generally boring football on display, Hourihane's performances after the first few games.

Hourihane is one of the worst midfielders I can remember here in recent times… up there with Renato

He worked damn hard in the first half last night. Kept making runs to pull the defence wide even though the ball rarely came his way.

This all the bloody way.

Yea Morris could have looked like Pele in that month he was fit and available to play for us if only if wasn't for that pesky Steve Cooper. Under a different manager Morris wouldn't have obtained the cruciate ligament injury and thrived for the rest of the season.

Cooper loyalists are starting to come across like teenage girls when you diss their favourite boyband.

Especially when you mention the American loanees.

Carnage will ensue.

You're the ones who can't stop mentioning our former manager for some reason? Steering yet another unrelated thread towards him.

I'm just busting myths. And this Morris one is a particularly easy one to dismiss.
