Latest police shooting

The police could have detained him before h got to his car. They didn't, because he hadn't commuted any crime.

This is too common now. Time to make an example of these rogue cops. first degree murder. No excuses!

It will be interesting to see the full facts of this case. It looks very bad but it could potentially have been worse, miraculously Mr Blake is will alive albeit severely injured. The children and other family members are likely to be highly traumatised.

According to the witness account given to CNN, the police were involved in a physical altercation with Blake and used a taser on him, but he still got to the car which is when they shot him. I can’t see armed cops ever going too hands on with a suspect because there is always the danger the suspect will over power the cop and be able to seize the weapon.

How can this be first degree murder when the guy isn’t dead? Nobody should be made an example of to suit a political agenda whatever they are accused of, there needs to be a full and impartial investigation, no stone should be left unturned and the rule of law should prevail. If people have broken the law, they should be treated accordingly

Hard to argue with that. Historically the problematic part is the full and impartial investigation bit.

I agree with your comment about the full and impartial investigation and that is the biggest challenge, but if things are to move forward and improve it’s something that has to happen.

That was quite shocking. The incident took place over 2 years ago and the offender got over 50 years in Court.
It certainly paints a picture of what the police could have to contend with. Prior to shooting the officers the offender takes a fair bit of punishment but still manages to break free, get to the car, pull a gun and shoot the cops who were very lucky to survive.

Seven shots sounds a lot like blind panic rather than deliberate excess. Seven shots that left the guy alive sounds like they hit him all over the place rather than centre mass or in the head, which also leads me to suspect panic.

Still, it's a f*cked up situation. Too many nervous cops with fingers on triggers and too many people shot for stuff that they wouldn't have in other countries. Too many guns.

He's now been named.

So the fella has admitted he was carrying a knife, and there was one in the drivers side of the car, where he was heading.

Well. Well. Well.

Just a citizen carrying out his lawful rights.

Not in a militia. Not breaking a curfew. Not carrying a firearm illegally in Wisconsin. Not from another state. Protecting citizens from terrorists.
