Good enough for a team that will be top 4 this season as he was last season but not good enough for us, and sold for less than we paid for Joel Asoro.

He scored 14 last season in a side devoid of creativity
We all think we will end up being more creative this season by the nature of the game Martin wants to play
And yet most people will not believe Lowe is the man to score 14+ goals a season.

Personally I would say he is bang average at this level but if he guaranteed me 14 goals this season I'd take it.

Can't disagree on parts of that Phil. My major concern is that by the end of today we will have lost Roberts, Ayew, Lowe, Hourihane, the two Americans, Grimes, Guehi and possibly Bidwell from last season's strongest squad.

Whatever we bring in will not make up for that loss. I can't remember any team going through that large a loss of starting players In a summer and being fine?

Tbf I've just looked on the Blackburn forum and doesn't seem Lowe has a great reputation and I'm unsure why. It ties in with what you say, but since he's come into the Football League his record is strong. But he's being treated like the next Dele Adebola or Shefki Kuqi.

He’s obviously not in the plans… we’ll double what we paid for him. Sounds like we just want to get rid so we can bring in a player Russy feels fits.

But yes, feel we could get a lot for him… but seems we just want to get a deal done so we can bring someone else in.

Today certainly isn’t going to be dull… which is unusual for us.

1.5m for a player with 2 years on his contract that scored 14 goals last season seems scandalously low to me.

The only consolation I have here is that Lowe has looked poor all season and I don't think he fits into the playstyle that RM wants, his close control and first touch have always been terrible and he is not a player with an eye for a clever pass or the ability to pull it off

All that being said however, it will be hard to find a player who can perform at a level that we want and have that kind of impact with the peanuts that we have earned from this deal.
