Luke Williams

He’ll probably want his own staff in, but I hope there’s room for Sheehan. He’s done relativity well steadying the ship, he seems an affable kind of guy who also genuinely has an affection for the club and fans.

I watched fair bit of Vanarama league last season. Notts County were on quite a bit. One thing I noted was how odd his interview were. He is a strange fellow, at least on front of the tv cameras. I always got the sense that was tripping wildly on mushrooms.

Did you quote the wrong post? Good effort. He can get them off you by the looks of it.

Let’s hope we have enough to stay up this season and can just be patient and allow him to rebuild.
It will take some time.

Good luck to him.

Assuming this is true then we all need to take a large dose of patience.

Results wise we may well even get worse before we get better as the Luke Williams style of defending will take us a little bit back in the direction of Martinball and the occasional Keystone Cops approach to playing around at the back. He is going to need a transfer window or two (or three) so align playing skills to playing style.

Patience is absolutely key. We cannot afford another manager sacking in the next eighteen months.

Whilst I agree, our experience with our previous manager does not fill me with confidence we have the patience to give him 2-3 windows. For everyone's sake he needs to have a relatively strong 2nd half of the season - Unless he's from the Russell Martin school of schmoozing the fans, in which case a win over Cardiff and a few fist pumps and he'll be fine regardless.

He'll get on well with Coleman in that case

Wood, Cabango, Darling, Allen, Fulton, Walsh, Cooper, Grimes, Cullen, Jamal & Paterson have all worked with Williams/ know Russell Martins style of play so it shouldn’t take to long to get methods across, just seems a massive cock up doesn’t it going for our former assistant manager to a manager we couldn’t wait to get rid of, and will fans be patient? Monday when we was passing it around there was plenty of moaning from the crowd.

I think there are one or two of the leadership team with egg on their faces, they won’t be rushing key decisions like managerial sackings any time soon.

Just cast yourselves back to that first game under Martin, Blackburn home was it? We're likely to have a few performances like that over then next month or two, suicide football at the back with Rushworth on the ball quite a lot.

Hopefully Williams can use the contact with our former gaffer to get us a loan player or two from Southampton - players that aren't playing but have trained under Martin this season and will be able to come in and do something in the short term.

Not sure we need too many players brought in… but will desperately need a striker to fit this style
