Luke Williams

Not sure we need too many players brought in… but will desperately need a striker to fit this style

The team is lacking pace massively, could do with an AM with vision and guile as well.

The test of the fans' patience will be if he picks a ball playing goalie instead of a goal stopping one !

I think it will suit Yates. Duff was paying him as a target man. If we revert to Martin Esque ball then there should be plenty of chances in the box

Notts County fans think it will take us months to adapt to his style and our fans won’t be patient… absolutely clueless.

Luke Williams to say his goodbyes to Notts County players this morning at their training ground before hopefully being confirmed as Swansea manager later today. 🤞🏻

Sounds like they've got it spot on

Very underwhelming tbh. So the defence will still remain a massive problem and it's back to wussball but without the 20 goal a season striker. Hope I'm wrong but.....

Wood, Cabango, Darling, Allen, Fulton, Walsh, Cooper, Grimes, Cullen, Jamal & Paterson have all worked with Williams/ know Russell Martins style of play so it shouldn’t take to long to get methods across, just seems a massive cock up doesn’t it going for our former assistant manager to a manager we couldn’t wait to get rid of, and will fans be patient? Monday when we was passing it around there was plenty of moaning from the crowd.

There will always be moaners who don't get it, who don't understand that it has a clear purpose ie to draw out the opposition and to stop them being able to score against you.

There were people who moaned about it when Roberto did it, when Rodgers did it, when Laudrup did it. They will always exist. They don't get it. Never will. If they had their way we'd still play 4-4-2 with a big man/little man combo up top.

The trick is, not to listen to these clowns. You certainly shouldn't validate them, which unfortunately is what Coleman did in the summer when he appointed Duff.

With this appointment it looks like he is at least acknowledging his mistake and putting it right (even if it has taken him more than 30 days to do so)

Notts fan in peace.

Happy to answer any questions about LW and RH.

Obviously a bit gutted but happy for them. They deserve a shot higher up the leagues and he leaves us in a far better place than when he arrived.

Outside of on the pitch stuff he is the best manager / head coach we have ever had for 'getting' the fans and the relationship he has with them and the one he cultivates between players and fans is unbearable.

One story I always tell about him re fans..

We lost at home a couple of months back, after the game I was in no rush so hung about and watched LW do his media duties then there was a few kids waiting for pics which he obliged. When it came to the last two kids one of them (must have been about 7) burst into tears, he hugged him and told him not to cry then grabbed him and his mate and took them down the tunnel to meet the players. Just a little thing but shows the sort of man he is especially when we had just lost and I'm sure he probably wanted to sit in his office and have a beer.

When we won promotion the players stayed down south that night and the next day they arrived back to Notts fans, not only did he do the usual photos etc he invited everyone to come to the pub and celebrate with them all. This turned into an all day and night affair. I saw them at about midnight, in a bar still chatting away to young lads who were all a bit drunk and wanting to chew his ear off but he didn't mind - he spent all evening chatting to every single fan that wanted to speak to him.

I know especially for the young lads that follow us that is a night they will never forget.

will he get grimes to pass forward ?????

He will need some sort of clever surgery to have his head rotated through 180 degrees so he'll think he's passing backwards but will actually be passing forwards

We haven't had a player that can run with the ball for several seasons. People talk about swans style but all the keepball systems we played under successful managers was based on getting the ball forward quickly when the opportunity presented, and players like Routledge, Dyer, Montero, Angel and Scotty were key to that with the likes of Leon and Joe pulling the strings. Managers like Copper and Martin don't get it and made us static and sterile in the name of possession.
