• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

"However, it is vital that everyone at the club is aligned with our shared strategy".

Interesting sentence. 🤔
That line didn't escape my notice either.
There is no doubt that something happened that triggered this

Maybe he tried to push some players from his own contacts list which didn't align with the recruitment model that the club had adopted. Maybe he tried to argue that Cricket is better than Tennis to certain powers that be in the corridors of power and was heard by the wrong person.

Maybe I am talking out of my arse and its none of the above (most likely)

Definitely tennis related 😂

I think it's just one of those things, view points didn't align and a parting of the ways was best for all concerned.

Right. the truth is usually more boring than the speculation. This kind of thing happens all the time in business. Things not working out, shake hands and agree to part ways.

Totally agree. The club is unrecognisable since the day he walked through the door.

Some people just feed of drama.

This is it although there will undoubtedly be some information "planted" into the public domain to just add a little more to it then just two parties who wanted to do things different ways and - shock horror - the ones holding the purse strings won.

You have absolutely no foundation for this and want to push a narrative that things aren't good behind the closed doors.

Why do you insist on stirring the pot?
Just a gut feeling.

These things don't tend to come out and people tend to keep quiet about. He's gone for a reason and there is always 2 sides to a story.
The people who own the club will always believe they are correct in their call.

It's quite possible that Montague was in the wrong behind closed doors.
Not doing his job correctly and so on.

If all was well, Montague would still be in a job.

Sounds like what a lot said when he first came on board. He is and was a Coleman and Williams recruitment and surprised he came on board. He got alot of credit from fans for the signings, maybe it wasn't as black and white as we all thought. He never identified players that was not his job. From sound of it, he wasn't on board with what we have done. If that's the case I have 0 issue with him going. This is the best window we have had in many years, if she doesn't agree on that? Then do one 🤣🤣

Maybe just maybe there isn't a story.........

Roles change and become redundant in organisations all the time. I'm guessing the job he was brought in to do no longer exists in its original format, hence the parting of the ways.

As part of an internal review!!!! 🤣
7 months on from appointing him, they decide to have an internal review........or so they say 🙈

100% a battle of egos going on somewhere in amongst all that.
Maybe. Though anyone knows in business irrelevant if it's 7 months or 7 days, knows very fast that the person you hired is on same wave length or not. No argument on what you said, but I have lost count of how many times I have worked with people who do amazing interviews and seems the best to only start work and drop off and show a completely different side to them. Who knows.

Yeah could be, but sounds more like he wasn't on board with there vision. But opinions and all 👍👍
