Montague

Maybe. Though anyone knows in business irrelevant if it's 7 months or 7 days, knows very fast that the person you hired is on same wave length or not. No argument on what you said, but I have lost count of how many times I have worked with people who do amazing interviews and seems the best to only start work and drop off and show a completely different side to them. Who knows.
Yes, fully agree on that.
Only thing I would say, if that is the case then I would expect a replacement.

Sounds like Adam Worth, the guy who has done a lot of the strategy and behind the scenes might be promoted. Sounds like he is is most important part for the club to keep, maybe Monty as you said wasn't needed?

How funny would that be mind, poacher turned gamekeeper...

"However, it is vital that everyone at the club is aligned with our shared strategy. " This is the line that jumped out of the statement to me.

Reading between the lines it seems like Monty and Dimi (could have been a kids cartoon) are at cross purposes, whether major or minor, and Dimi, being Brett Cravatt's guy, won out.

I'd imagine that most of us old heads view the prospect of Dimi having even more power with some trepidation, but this is our life now.

Montague - Using data to buy low and sell high (Interview when Coleman & Williams was running the show)

With the type of players we are targeting now high profiles and costing a fair bit of money, clearly that original strategy Montague was brought in for has majorly shifted therefore he’s not needed, we move on he will do a decent job using that strategy where he got some decent players for lower league teams like Notts County.

The future is bright at Swansea City.

My take on it, I get the feeling the edge was between Montague and Sheehan. I think the link with Williams was still burning and I have the sense the Idah signing might not have been to Montague's liking.

If it is as you suggest, owners need to be careful because the more support and backing they give, more the mindset gets stronger and thinking you are correct comes with no questions and less thought.

Just because Montague might have had a different mindset on how things should be done to others, doesn't ultimately mean his view might be wrong..........I have seen situations like this when in time that person is standing back ultimately having the final say of "I told you".

In these situations, it can be fine margins on getting things right to it all going to shit. Whatever the situation, you can't have egos dictating and trying to manipulate an environment where everyone agrees with you or is to scared to even question things or throw other alternatives into scenarios.
