Montague

I can certainly believe in a disagreement on the type of players we're after. Monty might well be one of those deeply in thrall to Pepball and the club are moving away from that.

I would find it much harder to go along with the idea that we've dispensed with him because the players he was looking at were too cheap.

"Our sights are set higher". No. The central idea is still the same. Buy low, sell high.

Well what I heard is he wasn’t a fan of the technical types we were getting in and thought the way to get promoted from the Champ was down the big and strong route. He didn’t have control over Recrutiment though, just negotiating so there was a lack of alignment. I heard this very early but all appeared rosy so ignored it. It was likely true on reflection.

My take on it, I get the feeling the edge was between Montague and Sheehan. I think the link with Williams was still burning and I have the sense the Idah signing might not have been to Montague's liking.

If it is as you suggest, owners need to be careful because the more support and backing they give, more the mindset gets stronger and thinking you are correct comes with no questions and less thought.

Just because Montague might have had a different mindset on how things should be done to others, doesn't ultimately mean his view might be wrong..........I have seen situations like this when in time that person is standing back ultimately having the final say of "I told you".

In these situations, it can be fine margins on getting things right to it all going to shit. Whatever the situation, you can't have egos dictating and trying to manipulate an environment where everyone agrees with you or is to scared to even question things or throw other alternatives into scenarios.
Not so long ago didn't you want Sheehan gone because of his link to Williams........

I implied that a clean break from the previous regime of Watson might be needed.....the post you responded to is practically what I suggested but in a roles reversal, this time with links to Williams.

I can certainly see the needs of it as I implied a few months ago......I can see how these things can become a problem.

It worked out that Sheehan had no real link to Williams just like Monty hasn't.

This is just a restructure in the operating model resulting in his role no longe existing.

Put your wooden spoon away.

Nah, you're definitely overthinking it
It's more my opinion on it, I don't think I really need to over think it and there will certainly be people who know what has happened but are unable or not prepared to disclose it......they would be the ones to call if it's wrong or not.

I couldn't tell you if Montague had a big impact or not on this window. There were videos of him in the Wales and Inoussa signings showing him doing something but that suddenly stopped. I don't think anything is obvious for us fans and all we are taking is snippets from different angles to try and paint a picture.

I've heard he was shagging one of

Shagging who? 🤣

I would edit that Smurph and I wouldn't listen to stories 🤣

We know there is no link with Williams and Sheehan.

Nothing wrong with asking questions. There always tends to be more to a story especially if there is only one side doing the talking........occaisionally the words spoken are the truth and might be the case here(hopefully so).

Really don't think it's that deep mate

Interesting comment on Indy saying he went on holiday the last week of the window as he wasn’t keen on the targets we had lined up so left it to Adam & Tom.
