I would tend to agree.

We've been here before. We spent much of the 22/23 season listening to people insist most vehemently that the squad Russell Martin had simply wasn't good enough. Obvious nonsense to anyone watching who hadn't bought into his bullshit as the last couple of months of his tenure demonstrated.

Is the squad Williams has as good as that? No, not really. Is it better than we're seeing at the moment? I would say so. When we attack with all the pace and intent of Continental Drift, allowing opposing defences all the time in the World to get set I have a hard time blaming the players for it. Even Cullen, who really isn't very good, is hampered by it.

Having said that, completely abandoning him last season when we were crying out at times for physicality and height in the box was just negligent.
